The legendary VFX master has gone to Kickstarter to help fund his new Vr/Ar Card Game and today he's announced some cool new goodies for backers a long with some updates on the game, includinga tantalizing Star Wars discovery. Come inside to learn more.
I've already talked about Phil Tippett's HoloGrid: Monster Battle game in the past. It's a nifty looking card battler that combines Ar tech to make for a more engaging video game. They've gone to Kickstarter to make it a full reality (much like our own card game), and today some new announcements have been made.
For one, Tippett himself is going to do an Ama this Thursday to talk about the game and his illustrious career. Secondly, some local comic shops are holding demos of the game for fans to check out, and lastly, some never before seen Star Wars filming photos have been found.

Endemol has teamed up with an international space programme to establish a human colony on Mars.
The company's Darlow Smithson Productions subsidiary will work with Mars One, which trains astronauts on the future project.
Dsp aim to produce a "worldwide TV event" focusing on candidates as they get ready for the mission.
Endemol and Mars One have claimed that human colonies on Mars can be completed, but that there would be no return trip to Earth.
The project will include 705 candidates chosen from over 200,000 applicants, who have applied to live the rest of their lives on Mars.
They will be tested using an intense programme run by scientists and astronauts.
"Bringing the story of our incredibly brave aspiring Martians to the world now officially begins with what we feel is a perfect partnership," said Mars One co-founder and CEO Bas Lansdorp of the Dsp partnership.

If the kids you spend most of your time with would be more likely to belt out a song by Tim and the Space Cadets called "2nd Grade Show" than Taylor Swift's hit "22," then this is the parody for you. Space Cadets front man, Tim Kubart, has taken on an alter-ego called Tambourine Guy to make parody videos that aren't for little children, but for the people who are raising them. Based on this first release, we feel pretty good about the switch.
No, Kubart isn't the first to remake Swift's bubblegum hit. Fuse TV's "32" went completely viral earlier this month, for one. Their parody, however, centered on the single city-dwelling 32-year-old who has "tiny little dinner parties," "a cat" and "a dentist, maybe." The stars in Kubart's clip are markedly parental ("Yeaaah, we're mommies and daddies and we're exhausted by the middle of the day") and there is...

2004: Wardrobe malfunction
Spotted! Grime "Alternatively called 8 bar, sub-low or eski… there's no particular structure, just an average 136+ Bpm, lots of speaker-shattering bass, and tales of girls, guns, drug-dealing and the ultimate crowd-pleaser, 'slewing' – slagging off the competition a la Eminem in 8 Mile." Hattie Collins merks it
Jesus wept "If you're a male flagellation buff out for a night on the town with the girlfriend who hates Jerry Seinfeld and the rest of the children of Israel, I honestly can't think of a better date flick." Joe Queenan spots Mel Gibson's antisemitic streak in The Passion Of The Christ

Last week we asked you to vote for TV's Most Crushworthy competition. This week you get to vote for the two finalists in each category to pick the Ultimate TV Crush. We gave you some seriously hot space cadets to consider. You're welcome.
On the men's side, the front runner wasn't exactly a shock. The internet is always abuzz when "Firefly" star Nathan Fillion tweets anything. Heck, we're still crushing on him in his role in "Castle." Captain Mal took the lead handily with a whopping 40 percent. He'll be up against Jamie Bamber, the smokin' Lee Adama in "Battlestar Galactica," who nabbed just over 11 percent.
On the ladies side, we've got another "Battlestar" alum. Starbuck (Katee Sackhoff) was the overwhelming favorite with just over 33 percent. You like your ladies tough out there in the great beyond. That was reflected in your second choice, Samantha Carter (Amanda Tapping) from "Stargate Sg-1...

The hunt for Gale and Peeta is over. After weeks of speculation, Lionsgate has announced that Liam Hemsworth ("The Last Song") and Josh Hutcherson ("The Kids Are All Right") are heading for the big screen version of Suzanne Collins' insanely addictive series "The Hunger Games" to play male leads Gale Hawthorne and Peeta Mellark respectively, reports Hollywood Crush.
Hemsworth and Hutcherson join Oscar-nominee Jennifer Lawrence, who was chosen to play "Hunger Games" heroine Katniss Everdeen last month. Both actors expressed interest in the highly anticipated project, which will be directed by Gary Ross. Hutcherson disclosed his feelings on the character, saying: "The character is so much who I am — self deprecating, a people person. And he’d be such a great character to play!"
Meanwhile, back in January, Hemsworth had hinted to MTV that he could very well be taking on the role of the stoic, first true love of Katniss,...
