Simple amusement, but not consistent
de_surfende_hollander26 February 2004
I used to like Kees & Co, but the last few seasons it's not always good. Especially since Rik Hoogendoorn, who played father Ben Heistee, left the show. Rik, also wellknown for his role in "Sesamstraat", added an extra spark to the show. When he 'died' and left the show (rumour has that he had arguments with Simone Kleinsma) it was immediately noticeable that this spark was gone. The new cast couldn't replace it. The show seems to have lost it's consistency, except for Simone Kleinsma who's still a good actress. Hopefully the new 2004 season, with more new characters (Sascha Visser from "Oppassen!!!" as Steven Speier), will make a lot of viewers laugh again.

Good series

When this series was rebooted in 2019 I was an instant fan.

Actress Simone Kleinsma as the main character Kees Heistee is worth gold.

I absolutely LOVE the theme song. The music, the graphics and editing are all awesome. The only lousy thing is that the length is only 30 seconds, my preference would have been one minute. Ending credits would have also been neat, currently even the guest actors are not mentioned in the credits.

Marjolein Touw played the character of Toos (the mother of Coosje) in the year 2020. A another combination of a good actor and a good character. I was dissapointed she was only in one episode in 2020, I'm hoping she will get more screentime in the next season.

Actor Jan Elbertse played the role of principal in 2019. A great episode.

Watching earlier episodes I noticed I became a fan of actor Rik Hoogendoorn as the character Ben Heistee. It's a shame he left the series after five seasons.

Meh

The first seasons of this series are very decent sitcom, with nice characters, decent acting and decent stories. Overall entertaining and enjoyable enough. As other reviewers pointed out though, after Rik Hoogendoorn leaves, most chemistry is gone and a lot of characters get rather annoying. As with a lot of these sitcoms, the characters become a bit of a parody of themselves, having their flaws exaggerated too much. Furthermore, what becomes incredibly annoying in the last seasons is the lazy writing. Everything is kinda the same and the main premise of every episode is based on miscommunication between Kees and her friend or partner, or both. Somehow they keep running in circles to fix things or to overthink stuff even more, until 5 minutes before the end they appear in the same room where they can speak with each other and everything turns out to be fine.

Seen it once.

Saw this show once while visiting a relative.

I like comedies a lot and every comedy had something good. So I thought.

The episode I saw had NOTHING funny in it. Every joke was lame and uninspired. All comedies worth watching have at least one good joke in even their worst episode.

This show had none so that was not a good sign. Granted, I am being judgemental but my time is limited and I do not have time to watch more episodes hoping that those will be any better.

The show has had its chance and lost. Why it is still on the air, I do not know. I should have been cancelled a long time ago is my opinion.
