TERRIBLE ANTI-CLIMAX AND A LOT OF LOOSE ENDS
J. Steed4 October 1999
A crime story that fits within the tradition of the German Problemfilm. Central theme is the Creutzfeldt-Jacob syndrome and BSE (mad cow disease) that was a hot item a couple of years ago. The viewer is fully informed - as in a typical Aufklärungsfilm - about these items and this information is contained in in an exciting but in the end unsatisfactory film, well-directed by Roland Suso Richter.

At one moment BSE must have struck the makers as towards the end things get incomprehensible; the final scene is a terrible anti-climax. Who send the murderer? Who or what is behind it all? Did the makers themselves had any idea about all the loose ends the viewer is left with?
