Savannah Guthrie‘s son Charles “Charley” Max is 1!
On Friday, the Today anchor celebrated the milestone by sharing a gallery of nine photos of her son to Instagram — each showing his smiling face throughout the past year.
“Life motto: Always Be Smiling,” Guthrie, 45, captioned the post featuring her baby boy, adding the hashtag “#Charley.”
An earlier post with additional photos read, “From his first day to his first year, this child is joy. Happy birthday Charley!!! Thanking God for this best of blessings. ”
Guthrie honored Charley on air too, telling fellow mom Hoda Kotb that she “can’t” believe he’s 1. “My little man!

Posing with son Charles “Charley” Max, 10 months Sunday, and daughter Vale, 3, for the cover of Parents magazine’s November issue, the Today show co-anchor and author of Princesses Wear Pants talked about the importance of supporting her children’s creativity.
One method the newly minted children’s book author uses? Introducing imagined characters into her daughter’s life, like the Big Red Heart Balloon.

Grey’s Anatomy may be humming along in its 13th season, but there is one beloved character fans have been hoping to see back in the Grey-Sloan scrubs -- and they’re not alone.
Jason George, who plays Ben Warren on ABC’s hit medical drama, dropped by Et’s Burbank studios on Thursday, and waxed poetic about possibly bringing back former co-star Sandra Oh, who portrayed fan favorite Cristina Yang.
“I would love nothing more than for Sandra Oh to come back. She is just a beast of an actress,” George, 44, told Et. “And any time she’s around, we have more fun and things just get better.”

Warning: Spoiler alert! If you haven’t watched Thursday’s winter premiere of Grey’s Anatomy, do not proceed. Everyone else, read on.
Grey’s Anatomy left the familiar walls of Grey-Sloan Memorial for the uncertainty of a maximum-security prison on Thursday’s winter premiere to look after the violent (and potentially dangerous) pregnant 16-year-old inmate.
The trio of doctors tasked with taking care of the volatile teen -- Jo, Arizona and Miranda -- got a lot more than they bargained for when they entered the premises of the women’s prison. The momentary reprieve from the frenetic chaos of Grey-Sloan, and Alex’s impending prison sentence, was invigorating for Grey’s star Jessica Capshaw, who has played Arizona since 2009.

Picking up the evening after the events of its winter finale, Grey’s Anatomy did not pass “Go,” did not collect $200 — it went directly to jail for its midseason premiere. But Alex’s decision to take a plea deal and do time in order to protect Jo’s identity wasn’t the focus of “You Can Look (But You’d Better Not Touch).” On the contrary, the episode followed Arizona, Bailey and Jo to the prison floor of Tri-County Hospital. Why? Read on and find out!

Correct me if I’m wrong, Grey’s Anatomy enthusiasts, but the Season 12 finale had it all — everything from a runaway bride and a budding love (lust?) triangle to the revelation of a devastating secret and a guest appearance by the stork. Heck, it even had some of that “lighter tone” that Shonda Rhimes promised us so long ago. Before you hit the comments with your review, let’s rewind and go over the highlights.

And this season, the female character that deserves the most attention and praise just happens to be played by a man. There's glamour and grandeur, acid wit and tender compassion... Poised for another big year, Jennifer Lopez fronts the February 2016 issue of InStyle magazine, proving she’s still a fashionable force to be reckoned with.
The “Waiting For Tonight” babe confesses that at 46 years of age, she’s no longer looking to get hitched- “I need to be happy on my own. If someone fits into that, great. But if they don't, that's Ok too. As girls, I think we are taught from a very young age that someone else is going to bring us our happiness. I was waiting for Prince Charming. Everybody I met was going to be the guy I was going to spend my life with. And then you realize, 'I'm strong. I'm my own keeper, my own savior.’ That's been the journey for me.”
And if she ever gets lonely, Jen looks no further than her twins Max and Emme- “They come with me everywhere.

Episode ten of American Horror Story Hotel, She Gets Revenge, works spectacularly well...
This review contains spoilers.
5.10 She Gets Revenge
There aren't a lot of action sequences in American Horror Story, but when something violent happens, as it does a lot this season, they tend to make a lot of it. The Hotel Cortez has been home to some terrible things, and it's always very stylish to behold. However, the titular Hotel is not really the centre of sweetness. Sure, there have been a few nice moments her and there, but nothing consistent, or played as straight as the reunion between Liz Taylor and her long-lost son Dennis. Throughout the episode, Liz and Iris make plans to commit suicide, but first they have to tie up their loose ends to keep from becoming prisoners of the Cortez. For Iris, that's simple: she has to cancel her magazines...

It's been a while since a season of American Horror Story has been this consistently good, both in terms of acting, characterisation, and general plotting. How terrifying can a baby really be? Er, pretty bloody terrifying judging by this week's episode of American Horror Story: Hotel...
This review contains spoilers.
5.6 Room 33
Lady Gaga's got a thing with her fans. She calls them her little monsters. It's a great fandom nickname, akin to the Kiss Army in terms of recognizability. After all, there's a whole episode of The Simpsons based around Gaga's schtick. It's the worst episode The Simpsons has ever done, but that's not the point. It's a known quantity, and I have no doubt it's been one of the inspirations for Countess's collection of creepy children, alongside The Shining and Village Of The Damned. They're actual little monsters, and she's their mother.
Of course, she's not just their adopted mother, she's the actual mother of at least one child, courtesy of the good butchers at Murder House. That's right, Countess...

Vampire children run amok among multiple plot-threads in this week's American Horror Story: Hotel episode...
This review contains spoilers.
5.5 Room Service
There's a lot going on in every episode of American Horror Story, and sometimes it makes it difficult to figure out just how to sit down and write a review like this. I mean, when the show is full of plot elements, how can you really focus on one? Last week was easy; a serial killer dinner party is always going to be attention-grabbing, but this week's episode had multiple fun things happening, so I guess I'll just stop waffling and go right to the vampire children.
Alex, the caring nurturer of Holden that she is, has been newly minted as a vampire by Countess Gaga, and she's having a little trouble adjusting. She's woozy, she's room temperature, her Pov shots are all blurry, she's vacant and clammy.

Vampire children run amok among multiple plot-threads in this week's American Horror Story: Hotel episode...

5.5 Room Service
There's a lot going on in every episode of American Horror Story, and sometimes it makes it difficult to figure out just how to sit down and write a review like this. America's serial killers come out to play in American Horror Story Hotel's latest Halloween episode, Devil's Night...
This review contains spoilers.
5.4 Devil's Night
The announcement that Lady Gaga would play a prominent role in American Horror Story: Hotel was a bit of a divisive one. She was the centerpiece of a lot of the show's commercials, particularly one of her set to the memorable industrial tune Du Hast by Rammstein. No one knew what role she would play, or what her purpose would end up being, but everyone had an opinion about it, and most of those opinions seem to have been negative. It's easy to see why; Gaga's a pop star, not an actress. If she's been on stage or screen, it's been in the context of her musical talents first and foremost, not her ability to emote or cry on cue. I have to admit to having been pleasantly surprised.

American Horror Story: Hotel delves into the past of Angela Bassett's character, Ramona Royale, in this week's ever-stylish episode...
This review contains spoilers.
5.3 Mommy
One of the many things American Horror Story is doing well this season is indulging in genre tropes. March's back story was accompanied by silent movie era film graphics and black and white film stock, and this episode's reveal of the history of Ramona Royale (Angela Bassett) is similarly fun. Rather than the silent era (or perhaps a very early talkie), Ramona is straight out of Quentin Tarantino's daydreams, a honky-blasting, gorgeous blaxploitation movie star supreme, and I mean that literally. Ramona Royale was a big B-movie star in her time, slapping around jive turkeys and sporting a boss baby Afro. It's a fun introduction to the character, who is very much a self-made woman, strong enough and beautiful enough to...

Every year of movies seems to have a dominant theme. Half way through the year, it seems the focus is on artificial intelligence. It's well documented on the site of our fervent love for Alex Garland's Ex Machina that so eloquently dealt with the matter of A.I. and humanity's coexistence (read Brad's interview with Alex here). Heck, even Marvel touched on the subject with Avengers: Age of Ultron. Those are most fresh in our mind, but on June 16, Neill Blomkamp's Chappie will hit shelves on Blu-ray and DVD to remind moviegoers it was the first film to kick off the year of A.I. Of course, of the three, Chappie garnered less than stellar reviews (check out Brad's theatrical review). But just like the titular android, it's a flawed yet misunderstood piece worthy of reinspection. Part of the negative reception likely has to do with...

We all from time to time enjoy a comfortable stay when vacationing anywhere in the world. So why should movie characters not appreciate a great place to stay as well? Interestingly, big screen hotels and motels almost play an important part as an extra movie character in addition to serving as a backdrop to the proceedings.
In Enjoy Your Stay: The Top 10 Movies About Hotels/Motels let’s look at some special selections where hotels and motels in film are featured and play a primary role in plot and theme. Cinematic room service has never been so accommodating.

As I drove up the winding mountain road to Big Bear, CA in the pitch-black night, I wondered, “What’s gay about the Big Bear Horror Film Festival?” Answer: just about everything.
What I didn’t realize before arriving was that a large homo contingent would be in attendance. In fact, there were so many gays in this tiny mountain village, to write “out gay ____” before each name I mention would be a chore. So I’m going to denote all the gay up in Big Bear with a “*”.
The Backstory: Several months ago Bbhf founder Michael Coulombe* pinged me via this blog with some very preliminary info on the fest. Sensing an opportunity to spread my super-important opinions around, I offered myself up as a judge for the festival. Realizing what a publicity juggernaut this blog can be, he immediately said, “Yes!” and I was on board.

For November Son (available on DVD April 14), the sequel to the gay thriller October Moon, writer/director Jason Paul Collum worked with both ends of the genre spectrum, the seasoned vet (Brinke Stevens) and the first-film newbie (Sacha Sacket).
Stevens, who reprises the role of “Nancy” in November Son, has over 100 acting credits. If you are a fan of the genre, you know Stevens even if you’ve never seen one of her films. By all accounts one of the nicest and most accommodating actresses to work with, Stevens weathered the “Girl in the Shower” storm of her early films and has come out the other side with nuanced performances in films like Mommy and October Moon. At an age when most B-movie queens fade into real estate careers, Stevens keeps racking up the roles, and she doesn’t have to take off her top to do it.
