In this movie, Anne Bancroft and Claire Danes play a grandmother and granddaughter. In How to Make an American Quilt (1995), which came out the very same year, Bancroft plays Glady Jo and Danes plays the younger version of Glady Jo in the flashback scenes. They share no screen time in either film.
