It ain't that bad, but it was better on TV
Koffiemok18 August 2003
Paul de Leeuw, who plays both Bob and Annie de Rooij, is one of the most controversial Dutch comedians of this age. There's a large group of people who dislike what he does, but I guess there's a same number of people who can appreciate his humour. He mocks certain taboos, but because of that makes them discussable. The best known example was his very emotional 1992 show with Rene Klijn, an AIDS patient who died about a year later. Everywhere you went, you heard people talk about this show. It later won the Bronze Rose at the Montreux television festival.

'Filmpje' was to be the farewell to his great creations of Bob and Annie de Rooij. Fortunately for us he didn't quite keep his word. Every now and then we still see the characters appear on his TV shows, but not as often as we would like to see them. They're lovable in their own weird ways. Bob, because he's the selfish, obnoxious, racist and sexist one and just good fun. And Annie, because she's the kind, gentle and caring one, and even though Bob is just plain cruel to her, she loves him with all her heart. You just feel sorry for her.

In the TV shows Bob was in a coma, and Annie regularly visited him in hospital. After waking up from his coma, their marriage went down the drain, mainly because of Bob's sexual demands, which Annie cannot fulfill. The film starts at the courthouse where they are getting a divorce.

After leaving the courthouse, Annie wants to persuade Bob to take her back, and gives him two tickets for a tropical holiday on the island of Curaçao. But it doesn't go the way Annie planned. Bob goes there with someone else, the daughter of mafia boss Don Gorgonzola (Rijk de Gooyer) and leaves Annie with the kids in their newly built house. (which isn't finished yet) By accident, Annie takes home a lobster which is stuffed with drugs. Annie gets romantically involved with another man, but doesn't know he is part of the mafia organisation whose lobster she'd taken. Annie is unaware she is being used as a drug courier and flies to Curaçao. After a lot of confusion and action-scenes, in the end Bob and Annie meet again and Bob finds out Annie is still his one-and-only soulmate.

It isn't much of a story, but that's because most of the storyline was edited out. The preview audience preferred the Bob and Annie parts.

In my opinion, the TV shows are better. Maybe because Paul de Leeuw was able to improvise more, or 'Filmpje' isn't as impulsive and spontaneous. Like mentioned before, in some way 'Filmpje' can be compared to 'The Naked Gun' or the 'Austin Powers' films. Silliness because of silliness' sake, with lots and lots of cameos.

Finally some good news for Bob and Annie fans: Paul de Leeuw announced on his website (questions area, May 23rd, 2003) that around November 2003, a "Best of Bob & Annie" DVD will be released! Also 'Filmpje' will be released on DVD around that time.

You'll love it or hate it
Boba_Fett113815 December 2002
This is a kind of movie you'll just love or hate. It has some typical Dutch cruel humor in it. Dutch comedian Paul de Leeuw plays both Bob and Annie de Rooy in a way only he can do it and Rijk de Gooyer plays a great "Godfather" like character.

The film is full cameos of famous Dutch actors. The movie has it's funny moments but overall it isn't anything special or new. The story itself is also pretty simple and has been done many, many times before.

I've to say I liked the TV show with Bob and Annie de Rooy in it better.

I want to choose 0

This must be the worst movie ever.

The trailer had all the laughs in the movie and when they passed I didn't laugh.

It's a waste of time and I have one more thing to say.

Why can't I give this movie 0-points, Or -10?

Don't ever watch this movie. Even if it is on TV.

I watched it in the cinema. I want my money back!!!! Paul de Leeuw is funny in his shows but please, forget this awful piece of @#$$@%@>><>#%>.

Edwin.

Great final for Annie&Bob de Rooij
panneflapper28 September 2004
I think this movie is great for anyone who loves rude Dutch comedy. It's not the story line nor the good acting performance, more likely the bad acting and rudeness that makes this film great. This movie came out at the top of Bob de Rooij's fame and this movie justifies his popularity. Almost the whole of celeb Holland is in this film. The story brings the main characters Bob&Annie in an adventure to the Dutch Antilles where they get involved with Dutch criminals and huge problems. As they try to separate from each other they actually get closer to each other more and more. In the meanwhile they are becoming important figures for the whole Dutch underworld at the Caribbean islands. The setting is good, acting a bit less, but most important: Bob&Annie rule!

the funny adventures of a couple breaking up, based on the popular tv-characters
rubamedia5 December 2000
It's the Dutch Naked Gun: A very clever parody on Dutch films, commercials and television. Meanwhile it comments on several Dutch holy taboos. Great fun, when you are open for it, like 1 million Dutch visitors, who made it the most sucessful movie of the decade.

The best dutch comedy ever!!!
eberutsu18 April 2002
This movie is great. You can just laugh by looking at the main characters faces Bob the Rooy And Annie the Rooy.

Bob and annie de Rooy are both played by Paul the Leeuw, and he gives a great performance, aswell as a cast of allot dutch celebrities.

But you must be warned, it's very cruel humor, But it's just darn funny. You love it or not. And the movie doesnt make any sence, but that's why it's so great.

Too bad it's the last we see of Bob and Annie the Rooy.

It isn't my top movie but it makes my top ten, so I'm giving this movie a ............................10. Like all my top ten movie's :P

If only there were more "filmpjes"
jelluh_m8829 April 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Filmpje is one of the best comedies I've ever seen. But I think it is quite hard to understand the humor if you don't speak Dutch because most of the jokes are quite hard to translate, which is a pity. Paul de Leeuw is one of the most controversial Dutch comedians, but I think he is brilliant. I also think the role of Rijk de Gooijer as don Gorgonzola is great, but then again hard to understand for people who don't speak the great Dutch Language. The reason why I haven't given 10 points is a scene in which Bob is jerking off. During that scene,I always look at another direction because it is really too vulgar. Without this particular scene, the film would have been perfect.

Brainless humor
artwrker12 May 2011
The humor is really cheap and mostly perverse, the storyline is ridiculous if you already can speak of a storyline but it works brilliantly. You just have to sit down and enjoy the utterly insane use of VERBAL perversity. It's really easy to criticize this movie because of it's total lack of a story and having superficial characters. Nevertheless the movie will make you laugh, if you like it of not. I believe though you've to be Dutch, or understand the Dutch language to enjoy this movie fully. Without knowing the exact meaning of certain Dutch phrases/words the movie loses it power. The movie is an hour and half of crazy situations, and tries to shock you here and there but never takes itself serious. In my opinion a classic Dutch comedy and does exactly what a comedy has to do: it'll make you laugh. It is brainless humor at it's best.
