Kristin Scott Thomas Most Proud Of Obscure Romanian Film
Actress Kristin Scott Thomas views the peak of her career as her role in an obscure movie for which she had to speak Romanian. The movie of which the star is so proud is the little-known 1994 film known to English-speaking audiences as An Unforgettable Summer. But Scott Thomas admits that rather than learn Romanian for the part, she read her lines phonetically. She had all the lines translated into French, which she speaks fluently, so she knew what she was saying. She explains, "The deal was they were going to dub me. But in the end they didn't bother because I was able to say it with enough conviction. It's a great, great movie. Really great." Scott Thomas's new film, Gosford Park, which releases this month in the U.S., has been nominated for 5 Golden Globes.
