The film is a spoof of "The Three Musketeers" by Alexandre Dumas taking place in Russia and the USA of the 1990s. It follows the plot of the book and the characters' names are replaced with similar names: d'Artagnan is called George Young, Athos, Porthos, and Aramis are Russian policemen Antonov, Portnov and Artemyev, etc. Genrikh Nikolayevich, played by Mikhail Kokshenov, is a spoof of Boris Yeltsin (Boris Nikolayevich Yeltsin) but his name is also a reference to Henry IV of France, although the king in "The Three Musketeers" was Louis XIII.
Svetlana Metkina's debut.
