Like "The Little Rascals" and "Lassie" before them, the Three Stooges were once a regular part of Saturday morning network programming.
The Three Stooges shorts date back to 1930, with the release of "Soup To Nuts," starring Moe Howard, Larry Fine, and Shemp Howard. In 1932, Shemp left the act to work on solo material, and he was replaced by his younger brother Jerome Horowitz, aka Curly. The Moe-Larry-Curly lineup became the troupe's best-known, and, beginning in 1934, they began starring in a very long series of short films, starting with "The Woman Haters." The trio proceeded to star in 97 Three Stooges shorts, released through 1947.
When Curly suffered a stroke in 1946, Shemp returned to the troupe, and the Stooges continued apace. From 1947 to 1955, the Moe-Larry-Shemp lineup starred in 77 additional shorts. Shemp, sadly, passed away in 1955, and he was replaced by Joe Besser, who starred in 16 shorts with Moe and Larry. Besser's stint with the Stooges was brief,...

The very first "Our Gang" short film, "One Terrible Day," was released on September 10, 1922, kicking off a long, long, long cinematic tradition that has continued for nearly a century. Producer Hal Roach first created "Our Gang" as an antidote to children's entertainment of the era, which tended to be magical and fantastical. He wanted to depict kids as they were, complete with their misunderstandings of adult language, innocent concerns, and petty rivalries. All told, there were 220 "Our Gang" shorts released from 1922 to 1944, and the films featured a rotating bevy of young actors.
While "One Terrible Day" was the first film released, the third film, called "Our Gang," was the first one filmed. Roach distributed the shorts through Pathé Exchange from 1922 to 1927, but then shifted over to MGM through to 1936. The studios each distributed over a dozen shorts per year, and...

In a remarkable political comeback, Donald Trump has secured a second term as the US president, triumphing over Democratic rival Kamala Harris in a contested election. The 78-year-old Republican leader surpassed the crucial 270 electoral votes needed to win the presidency with Wisconsin emerging as the decisive battleground state that sealed his victory. But did you know before making his way to the White House, Trump was an unexpected Hollywood regular?
Known for his real estate empire and a larger-than-life persona, Trump had an unusual side hustle, he was a cameo king! Long before his political career took off, Trump was dabbling in movies and TV shows, often playing, well, Donald Trump. In his first cameo in Ghosts Can’t Do It, Trump appeared as a version of himself. But it was his appearance in Home Alone 2 that left a lasting impact on pop culture.

The 1994 film The Little Rascals, directed by Penelope Spheeris, is a beloved comedy movie with accurately-aged children. The movie follows a group of anti-girl youngsters who enter a soapbox car rally, but the world turns upside down when one of the members develops a crush on a girl that distracts the group from the competition, ultimately leading the bullies (Butch and Woim) to win the prize car. The Little Rascals is a fun story that touches upon the greatness of friendship and the loyalty that comes with childhood bonds.
One debatable topic in the entertainment industry is when actors play roles that are much younger than their current age, causing a disruption of continuity. In The Little Rascals' original series and the movie, the characters are all children, so all the actors are children as well, but their ages are merely assumed in the film and not necessarily talked about much.

Children of the 1980s understand how deeply weird it is that Donald Trump is now considered a politician. 40 years ago, Trump was a clownish pop culture figure more than anything. He was often described as a real estate mogul in the press, but he was more often parodied on sitcoms and in comic strips as the world's worst millionaire, a caricature of a pseudo-celebrity, and the central symbol of Ronald Reagan's aggressively wicked yuppie class. He was a whimsical punchline more than he was a respected businessman and his financial failures were just as notorious as his successes. I personally recall a joke from Mad Magazine that said Trump was working on a book about his personal success ... but that he was stuck on Chapter 11.
Trump served as the template for multiple villains in other media, including Gordon Gekko from "Wall Street," C. Montgomery Burns from "The Simpsons," King Koopa in "Super Mario Bros,...

It was 30 years ago when Lisa Loeb made history as the first Billboard number-one single for an artist without a recording contract. The song was “Stay (I Missed You),” which became synonymous with the 1994 romantic dramedy Reality Bites. Since then Loeb and her iconic tune have been fun fixtures throughout television, movies, and even commercials. She most recently even appeared on That ‘90s Show during a dream sequence with Callie Haverda’s Leia Forman in the star’s signature look. Coming off the cameo and release of her new collaborative album with The Hollow Trees, we thought it would be fun to reminisce with the Grammy-winnner about some of her favorite TV guest spots. Congrats on the new music. I read there are some inspirations for “That’s What It’s All About” in particular taken from TV shows like The Little Rascals and The Three Stooges. Tell me a bit about that.

After 30 years, The Little Rascals finds renewed success on Netflix, ranking as the 10th most-watched movie in the US. Its resurgence indicates a renewed interest despite its poor reviews and age, competing with classics like Matilda. The film's unique story, memorable characters, and child actors' later careers contribute to its rewatchability and potential climb in rankings.
The poorly-reviewed 1994 movie adaptation of the classic comedy shorts The Little Rascals became a hit on Netflix in the United States 30 years later. Directed by Penelope Spheeris, the film acts as an updated version of Hal Roach's Our Gang series of shorts, many of which were originally broadcast under the name the movie would later use. In the movie, The Little Rascals characters discover a member of their anti-girl club has a secret girlfriend, leading to a series of event all stemming from Spanky (Travis Tedford) and Buckwheat (Ross Elliot Bagley) trying to break them up.

Who says 1994 was a classic year for cinema? Netflix begins today to make that argument, curating a release of 17 films that turned 30 this year. The streamer has its list below. I have mine, and with the exception of the seminal Farrelly Brothers-directed Dumb & Dumber with Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels, and Luc Besson’s Leon: The Professional, the film that stars Jean Reno and a sinister Gary Oldman and introduced the world to the outsized talent Natalie Portman, and maybe Ron Howard’s The Paper, there’s a lot missing. How about Forrest Gump, The Shawshank Redemption, Pulp Fiction, The Lion King, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Clear and Present Danger, Sicario, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Interview With the Vampire, Speed, Ed Wood, and the other two films in a starmaking year for Jim Carrey, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and The Mask. Speed, Once Were Warriors, and Ang Lee...

Donald Trump, an actor and Bible salesman, has been found unanimously guilty of 34 felony charges, facing a max sentence of 136 years, though will likely become President in November regardless. Sentencing is set for July 11. The Nft salesman denied the charges and angrily yelled that the trial was rigged. He will be fundraising through spam emails later tonight. The future of Trump's acting career and upcoming projects remains murky ahead of his sentencing and the upcoming Republican National Convention.

Froggy, played by Billy Laughlin, was a popular character in The Little Rascals short films known for his croaking voice. Laughlin started as support for Alfalfa, but eventually took on a central role in the series, showcasing his singing and comedy talents. Tragically, Billy Laughlin passed away in a traffic collision at just 16 years old, marking the end of his short but impactful acting career.

Donald Trump is not only the 45th President of America, but he’s also throwing his hat into the ring once again to try and become the 47th President of the U.S.
A very polarizing political figure, in addition to being the leader of the free world, he also has real-estate mogul to his resume, as well as actor, appearing in many movies over the years.
But, why has he had so many cameos in the past? During a Hollywood Reporter interview, actor Matt Damon stated that Trump had a special requirement for filmmakers who wanted to use any of his properties in their films, and that was apparently to give him a small movie role in the flick.
Most of these movie appearances have caught fans completely off guard. Below is the top “unexpected” movie cameos Donald Trump has made.

Director Fred Dekker’s 1987 cult classic monster mash The Monster Squad (watch it Here) features variations of the classic Universal Monsters characters Dracula, Frankenstein’s Monster, The Wolf Man, The Mummy, and the Gillman, but it wasn’t actually a Universal production. So to avoid getting in trouble with Universal, the movie’s effects crew at the Stan Winston Studio had to create their own specific designs of the creatures… but that didn’t stop them from sneaking homages to the original monsters in there. It has been known for a while now that designers Steve Wang and Matt Rose hid the face of the original Creature from the Black Lagoon somewhere on the neck of their Gillman suit. Now – as pointed out by Monster Squad super-fan Shawn Robare of Plastic Rocket Pop – the exact location of that face has been found!

It is hard to believe (for people of a certain age), but the year 1994 was 30 years ago! For this week’s poll, we wanted to step back into the time machine and reminisce about what could possibly be considered one of the best years in cinema history. If, like me, you are in your thirties, 1994 holds a nostalgic place due to movies such as Blank Check, D2: The Mighty Ducks, Major League 2, Clifford, The Flintstones, Getting Even With Dad, Little Big League, Angels in the Outfield, The Little Rascals, Camp Nowhere, Richie Rich and Little Giants. The year also represented the huge breakout of comedy legend Jim Carrey as Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, The Mask, and Dumb and Dumber were all released during that single calendar year.
But it wasn’t just movies aimed at a child’s heart that were released in 1994. The year also saw some genuine...

Plenty of haunted, Halloween and holiday options will crop up on Netflix in the month of October. The harvest doesn’t seem too lean despite the almost five-month writers strike that viewers are sure to feel next year, but at least the WGA and AMPTP have reached a deal, and hopefully, SAG-AFTRA is not too far behind. Luckily, Halloween and fall have a classic canon of films and TV shows that stretches back decades, and some of those staple watches will be available through Netflix throughout the month.

There are a few standout new releases on Netflix in October, but it’s a rather quiet month on the world’s most popular streaming service otherwise!
Highlights this month include a brand-new series from Spook Master Mike Flanagan. The Fall of the House of Usher is a gothic tale loosely based on the short story of the same name by Edgar Allan Poe, and tells the story of two extremely unpleasant siblings whose family dynasty ends up going to hell in a handbasket. Before you ask: yes, Rahul Kohli is in it. That’s all that a lot of people need to know here (we’re people).
Elsewhere, Netflix is dropping a few interesting-looking docuseries, including one on football legend David Beckham. It promises to be an “intimate portrait” of Beckham, and the filmmakers were apparently granted unprecedented access to the sportsman and his family while making it.

The 1994 movie The Little Rascals features an ensemble cast, with Sam Saletta playing a young bully named Butch, but where is the actor now? The Little Rascals movie is based on a series of short films under the Our Gang brand, which ran from 1922 until 1944. In the 1950s, the Our Gang films were re-released under the name The Little Rascals, making the beloved characters from the shorts even more popular. Each version of The Little Rascals follows a group of young children growing up in a working-class neighborhood. Together, they go on adventures while facing off against neighborhood bullies and other obstacles.
In the Little Rascals movie from 1994, Spanky (Travis Tedford), Alfalfa (Bug Hall), and their friends have their sights set on winning a go-kart race. However, Butch and his friend Woim (Blake Jeremy Collins) work against the group to try and keep them from succeeding. Because The Little Rascals premiered decades ago,...

That’s So Raven is a celebrated classic Disney sitcom that featured the talented Raven-Symoné as teen psychic Raven Baxter, running from 2003 to 2007. The endearing comedy centered on the spunky high-school student and her close pals Chelsea and Eddie, and chronicled the many hijinks and misadventures the trio got mixed up in due to Raven’s not-so-clear visions. The wholesome show famously showcased Raven wearing hilariously over-the-top disguises she would create during her many schemes, and amassed a devoted fan base during its tenure.
With an additional cast including Anneliese van der Pol, Orlando Brown, and Kyle Massey, the sitcom helped establish the careers of its up-and-coming leads. That’s So Raven was a ratings dream for Disney Channel and garnered critical acclaim throughout its four seasons, becoming the first show on the network to exceed three seasons and reach 100 episodes.

Between bands like Duran Duran, Guns N’ Roses, New Edition, and many more, the 1980s became one of the most memorable eras within the medium of music. While the vocalists themselves were temporarily honored with bedroom posters and magazine clippings at the epitome of their popularity, the albums they released will forever hold a place not only in fans’ minds but also in history.
Just between the aforementioned groups, many accomplishments include a plaque on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, an induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and over thirty various accolades in the industry. While it is quite a time-honored tradition to give out awards and nominations to those musical icons who have strived for success, a new documentary being shown at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival will highlight an infamous duo who also achieved greatness during that era but also shortly thereafter, stepped into one of the quickest downfalls ever seen.

Michael James Gubitosi, more famously known as Robert Blake, died at the age of 89 in Los Angeles from heart disease. The news comes from Blake's niece Noreen Austin and was reported by Deadline. Blake was a Hollywood lifer, getting his start as a child in the MGM film "Bridal Suite" before assuming the role of Porky in the "Our Gang" and "The Little Rascals" shorts from 1939 to 1944. He continued performing well into his teen years, taking a brief hiatus in his 20s after he was drafted into the United States Army.
Blake reportedly developed a severe substance abuse problem in the years that followed but turned back to acting to get his life on track. He re-emerged playing more adult, dramatic roles, appearing in films like "Treasure of the Sierra Madre," "In Cold Blood," and a string of studio Westerns under the stage name "Bobby Blake." Professionally known as just Raven-Symoné, she has either starred or appeared in some childhood classics such as ‘The Little Rascals,’ ‘The Cheetah Girls,’ ‘Tinkerbell,’ ‘Doctor Dolittle,’ and, who could forget, Disney’s ‘That’s So Raven.’ Raven has even been on our television screens as recently as 2017 with her spinoff show ‘Raven’s Home,’ which has led her to be nominated for a ‘Daytime Emmy Award’ for ‘Outstanding Performer in Children’s Programming.’ You could also find her on older seasons of the ABC talk show ‘The View’ from the year 2015-2016. In the '90s, Whoopi Goldberg earned her way into the hearts of millennials with her performances in movies such as the "Sister Act" films, "The Lion King," and "The Little Rascals." The star-studded 1997 musical fantasy TV film "Cinderella" was another go-to movie for pizza parties during my elementary school days. The fairy tale remake stars Brandy Norwood as the titular character who, with the help of her Fairy Godmother (Whitney Houston), wins the love of Prince Christopher (Paolo Mantalban). Goldberg plays Queen Constantina, the prince's controlling mother who wants to find him a suitable mate.
"Cinderella" is an all-around funny movie. Cinderella's stepmother (Bernadette Peters), her stepsisters, Calliope (Veanne Cox) and Minerva (Natalie Desselle Reid), and the royal family's servant, Lionel (Jason Alexander), all provide some comic relief. But what really made my classmates and me choke on our Pepsi was Goldberg's performance as the queen. Her patented squeals...

Reba McEntire is boarding “Big Sky” Season 3 at ABC in a series regular role.
The news comes just days after the third season renewal announcement for the drama series, at which time it was also announced that both Jensen Ackles and Jamie Lynn-Sigler are also going to appear as series regulars in the new season.
McEntire will play Sunny Brick, described as the mercurial matriarch of the Brick Family, a successful backcountry outfitter with a secret history of missing customers.
McEntire is an incredibly accomplished musician, winning numerous top industry awards with 35 chart-topping singles and over 56 million albums sold worldwide. But she is also an accomplished actress. Perhaps most famously, she led the multi-cam sitcom “Reba” for six seasons and 127 episodes, earning a Golden Globe nomination in the process. The Little Rascals Volume 4
Blu ray – The ClassicFlix Restorations
ClassicFlix
1933, ’34, ’35,/ 1.37:1 / 218 Min.
Starring George McFarland, Dorothy DeBorba, Dickie Moore
Written by H.W. Walker
Directed by Robert F. McGowan, Gus Meins
Often dismissed for their old-fashioned ways, classic films should be applauded for those very qualities. For better—and sometimes for a lot worse—movies operate as de facto documentaries of their generation, and none more so than the string of depression-era comedies produced under the most un-comical circumstances. Those two-reelers featured bankable stars at center stage but lingering on the sidelines were the dime a dozen extras who came to California looking for work and found it in, of all places, Hollywood. Brutalized by their circumstances, these migrants would not have been out of place in a Walker Evans photograph—instead those careworn faces would be documented by the likes of Mack Sennett and Hal Roach. One of Roach...
