Just an okay thriller that basically rips off "Rear Window" and many other similar thrillers where by accident Timothy Busfield films a murder being committed, becomes involved in the investigation after being made a suspect, and becomes involved with the killer's girlfriend (Heather Licklear). There's also a buttinsky old woman (isn't there always?) played by Cloris Leachman, a boozer in a wheelchair who ends up in jeopardy because of her nosiness. Of course she's there to provide comic relief, but is actually rather annoying, overusing her Granny/"Beverly Hillbillies" voice to the point of aggravation.
While seeing Roberts playing a vulnerable heroine is nice for once, it takes any bite out of her that would have given her some nice stuff to do. You don't expect Sammy Jo or Amanda to stand idly by and be a wimp. It's also distracting knowing who the killer is way too soon, and you just know the type of endings these types of films usually have. So it's watchable but not exactly exciting, typical 90's movie of the week, and the turn around of the plot and one of the main characters isn't really believable, especially the bad British accent that goes with it.
