During the filming of this movie, the then 17-year-old Asia Argento began a love affair with Sergio Rubini, who at the time was married to Margherita Buy. In her autobiography, Argento says: "I played the role of his lover [...] I remember that during one scene I had improvised a movement of the legs hoping to turn him on. I wanted to provoke a reaction in him [...] His wife in that same film played the protagonist's wife and that made it all the more exciting." Rubini and Buy separated in 1993 because of this (though they didn't officially divorce until 2012).
