Rocker Meat Loaf turned fans against him at a show in Vancouver, Canada last year when his voice gave up mid-song.
The Dead Ringer For Love hitmaker lost his voice during his warm-up routine for the show, but he felt so sure adrenalin and a dose of energy drinks and vitamins would help him make it through the concert he refused to cancel.
Then an hour into the gig, he could no longer sing.
He recalls, "Soundcheck was a little rough and it didn't really bother me but, as we got to 8pm, I did my warm-up where I sing with the piano and nothing was coming out.
"I kept singing and singing and said, 'Ok, it's there, let's go.'
"It was one hour, one minute and 56 seconds into the show and my voice stopped in front of 16,000 people. It felt like the last show I'll ever do. I even said that to the audience: 'Look, I want to thank you, it's been great but my voice is gone and I don't know if I'll ever be back.'
"There were 16,000 angry people at me. I got a lot of angry hate mail. They wanted refunds."...
