Miley Cyrus stepped out with Bff Cheyne Thomas in Northern California on Tuesday. The buds chatted during their stroll as Miley bared her midriff in a crop top beneath her oversize jacket. Meanwhile, her boyfriend, Patrick Schwarzenegger, ran errands in La looking clean-cut with combed hair and a groomed beard. Miley's getaway comes nearly a week after the couple hung out in La. The lunch date marked one of the first times Miley and Patrick were spotted together since his controversial trip to Mexico, during which he got friendly with his ex and embraced a woman at a bar. Patrick soon defended himself on Twitter, saying, "Would Never do anything against my Gf." Just this week, Miley's big sister, Brandi Cyrus, squashed speculation about their relationship, saying Patrick is good for Miley. "He takes everything [with Miley] so well and takes it in stride," she told People. "And I think they kind of balance each other out.

The Walking Dead spin-off series has been in development for well into a year now and still very little has been clarified on what the new series will be like. The new show is being developed by Robert Kirkman, the comic books creator, and former Sons of Anarchy scribe, Dave Erickson, which have stated that the series will exist apart from the Georgia area. The new series will explore other areas of the country as well as focus on different survivors and may possibly be set during a time period before the current series, but not much has been fully confirmed.
Last month AMC finally committed to ordering a pilot and followed the news with a breakdown of the shows new characters. This week they have announced that Academy Award winner and TV director veteran Adam Davidson will helm the pilot to the companion series of the most highly rated program on television right now.

Since AMC announced a spinoff series for The Walking Dead, details on production have been scarce to say the least. What we know thus far is that the show will act as a ‘companion series’ to the original – and that’s about it. Now, however, we know who’ll be helming the pilot, as Academy Award winner Adam Davidson has signed on to direct a new group of survivors.
Davidson earned the Best Live Action Short Film Oscar for The Lunch Date in 1991, and has since gone on to flesh out (ahem) his resume with a stream of small screen directing credits. If you’re an avid TV fan, you’ll have likely seen his work before as he has previously crafted episodes from shows including Fringe, Kingdom, Community, Grey’s Anatomy and Parenthood. There’s a couple of genre titles in that mix, but what’s promising is his...

Directing the pilot for The Walking Dead’s spin-off series? That’d be Oscar-winning talent Adam Davidson…
We’ve known for a while that The Walking Dead was getting a companion series. The further details of this project have remained a mystery since the show was announced, though.
Speculation has been rife as to the central plot of the spin-off – will we see another group of survivors in the wild, a group of top scientists searching, a cure or a military view on proceedings or something else entirely? There’s currently no clues either way.
Today though, we learnt who will be helming the show’s pilot episode. Adam Davidson, who picked up the Best Live Action Short Film Oscar for The Lunch Date in 1991, will direct the show’s premiere outing.
Since his Oscar success, Davidson has become a TV mainstay with directing credits for Lost, Deadwood, True Blood,...

Things are starting to gear up for AMC's upcoming companion series to "The Walking Dead," as Deadline brings word that Academy Award winner Adam Davidson has been brought on to helm the pilot episode of the new series. Davidson won the Best Live Action Short Film Oscar back in 1991 for The Lunch Date and has gone on to direct countless episodes of television including "Lost," "Deadwood," "Dexter," "Rome," "True Blood," "Fringe," "Community," and even AMC's own "Hell on Wheels" and "Turn: Washington's Spies."...

The Shawshank Redemption's Frank Darabont directed the first episode of The Walking Dead, but it will be Adam Davidson who brings the planned spin-off to the small screen. Shooting is scheduled to begin later this year, but when the "companion" series will air hasn't been made clear. Comic book scribe and executive producer Robert Kirkman developed the untitled show with Dave Erickson (Marco Polo) and it apparently takes place during the same zombie apocalypse shown in The Walking Dead (just in a different location and perhaps even a different time period). Davidson is no stranger to TV, and his credits include the likes of Fringe, Kingdom, and Hell on Wheels. He also won an Oscar in 1991 for his short film, The Lunch Date. What do you guys think?...

Twi-hards, you can come out of mourning: The dark days are now behind you. On-the-mend twosome Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were spotted together in Los Angeles Monday, their third sighting in as many days as the duo continue to give their relationship a second shot in the wake of her cheating scandal. The duo headed out to lunch with pals in Hollywood, and although there wasn't any noticeable Pda, they did sport matching backward baseball caps. Small steps! (Next time, she might want to wear his old shirt again to really drill in the mea culpa.) The lunch date comes just a day after the two were spotted canoodling at Ye Rustic Inn in Los Feliz Sunday night, and attending a friend's birthday...

Good things come in small packages (or so my wife assures me), and that can certainly be the case when it comes to films. Part of the genius of short films is that when they’re good they are just as entertaining and rewarding as something twenty times the length, and when they’re bad, well, at least they’re over quickly. In all walks of life there’s a satisfying beauty to brevity, and in filmmaking it’s nearly always the case that less is best – as anyone who has sat through Judd Apatow’s self-indulgent snore-fest Funny People can attest (surely Irritating People would have been a better title?).
But I digress – I’m here to praise, not malign, and so below I’ve compiled a little list of what I consider to be among the five best short films of all time. Of course, like a lot...
