When director Jan de Bont set about casting the various faces and secondary characters that populated bus #2525 in his 1994 actioner "Speed," it was very important to him that they reflect the multicultural identity of Los Angeles. Not only that, but he wanted there to be a heavy dose of realism in his choices, actors who seemed to be people you could look over on a morning commute and see reading the paper, sipping coffee, gazing out the window and starting their day. On the occasion of the film's 20th anniversary, I thought it would be interesting to track down as many of those actors as possible and tell the story of "Speed" from their perspective. It was a gargantuan task. While a number of them have remained in the industry in some way, many have moved on to other careers. But their individual stories are nevertheless as fascinating as the...

Jason Bourne. James Bond. Both are admirable big-screen spies deserving of your respect, but Jon Moore has one thing on his side that neither of those heroes have: a man named Jake Ellis.
Moore is the hero of the appropriately titled "Who Is Jake Ellis?" from writer Nathan Edmondson and illustrator Tonci Zonjic. The Image Comics espionage thriller tells the tale of an on-the-run mercenary who finds himself aided by Jake Ellis, an enigmatic figure that only he can see. When trouble is around the corner, Jake can see it coming. If a bullet's flying towards Jon's head, Jake tells him to duck. Having an ally like Jake can be good in Jon's line of work, but there is that nagging question… who is this mysterious man, and why can no one else see him?
The "Jake Ellis" trade paperback, collecting the first five issues of the series, lands in...

If you’re like me, Dennis Haskins came into your living room every Saturday morning as the loveable Mr. Belding.
He played the role that made him an icon to kids everywhere for 11 years and he’s not done yet. I talked to him as he was in rainy San Francisco researching a role in the musical, Wicked.
He’s got some great stories, fantastic advice and tells us what he’s up to next.
So, when I told people I was going to interview you, everyone just completely, automatically smiled, and you just –
Isn’t that nice?
Yeah, you just seem to be so loved for your character, Mr. Belding. You bring back these –
Warm fuzzy feelings (laughter).
Exactly. You bring back these happy memories from childhood. That’s gotta be great for you.
Well, you know it’s funny because I was just glad to have a job when I got the job.
