Vanessa Paradis's film debut. She was only 16, Jean-Claude Brisseau made her rehearse fourteen hours a day. She often cried. It was morally difficult for her. "Brisseau was extremely special. Very tall, very authoritarian, with that deep voice, "she recalls. And if it wasn't the director who insulted her, it was his assistant. He told her, "We watched the footage, you were so bad yesterday, try to make an effort today ...".
During the investigation that preceded the 2005 trial of Jean-Claude Brisseau for sexual harassment of some actresses, Vanessa Paradis' mother reported "an accident," during the filming of this movie released in 1989. Brisseau had asked the actress, who was a minor, to masturbate in front of him and his partner. The very young actress conditioned the continuation of the film to the constant presence of her mother during the filming.
Vanessa Paradis was not Jean-Claude Brisseau's first choice. He first thought of Charlotte Valandrey but then he realized she was too old (22) for the role.
After the release of this movie, Vanessa Paradis said: "My little ass, you have seen it once, you will not see it again." But, in Élisa (1995), we see it again, often. Answer of the star: "When a person grows up, she changes her opinion."
Jean-Claude Brisseau wrote he was very grateful to Bruno Cremer for agreeing to star in the film but he admitted the actor was uncomfortable during filming. "He once told me: 'I'm scared to hold a sixteen-and-a-half-year-old girl in my arms, because I feel like I'm holding my daughter.' Secondly, it has to be said that Paradis and Crémer didn't get along," Brisseau wrote.
