The car keeps changing from washed to unwashed throughout the movie after the car wash scene. The washed car has a dent in the rear quarter panel, while the unwashed car is not dented.
When Jerry Lee is being aggressive with the two cops, whilst he is barking at them, it can be seen that he's restrained with a lead around his neck. A moment later, he scamps away into the cop car.

The handheld video game that Dooley is playing throughout the film is the Nintendo Game & Watch game "Manhole". The sounds that the game makes, such as the "laughing" noise, do not exist in the game. Also, the "game over" music that plays is taken from the Game & Watch version of Super Mario Bros. Additionally, the way he describes the game to Jerry Lee, by saying that he's shooting at people, and loses when he misses is incorrect, since the object of the game is simply to move a platform around the game screen to stop people falling down open manholes.
After Jerry comes out of the car wash, Dooley opens the door and water spills out, but when Dooley gets into the car and leans back against the car seat, his jacket does not show any wetness when he leans forward again as he is pulling out of the car wash.

When Tracey brings Jerry into her bed room it is seen that her mouth is not moving but yet one can hear her saying " You little sweetheart, and your just a little sweetheart." to the dog.
During the car chase with the Mercedes it is seen that a stunt person is driving through that sequence not James Belushi.
In the hotel restaurant, Jerry Lee can be heard 'drinking' the tea through a straw, but the level in the glass does not change even after the cut.
When Jerry Lee attacks men in the bar and bites one of them by the hand, it is obvious that the man has padded sleeve so that dog bite would not hurt him.
In the last scene when Dooley is driving to Las Vegas, the reflection of the crew and camera can be seen in his sunglasses.
