Robert Bullock, normally a fine actor, is embarrassingly smarmy and strictly unfunny impersonating David Letterman in this lousy spoof of his hit TV show. Besides being dated, the movie is at best cringe-worthy.
Replete with a noisy laugh-track (perhaps necessary since all the smutty jokes and double entendres fail), it depicts a show that goes nowhere. The "Stupid Sex Trick" has a nonentity humping Tori Welles on stage, and even a fabulous superstar like Tori looks nondescript -just a mechanical sex scene like the rest of the show.
Running joke is David's dislike of cohost Tamara Lee, an attractive performer whose face recalls Raquel Welch. They have a sex scene together in a cooking segment -ho-hum.
Other boring scenes include Randy West playing a TV pitchman, who humps porn star Victoria Paris in the Green Room, and Victoria and Tamara having a threesome with Peter North by a pool table in a clip promoting Victoria's latest video release.
Worst satire is undoubtedly Blake Palmer looking silly as a hippy-dippy version of band leader Paul Shaffer, who gets a threesome with Bullock and a supposed fan of the show played by Brandy Alexander.
This amounts to a pathetic example of the stereotype of a dumb porn video -pretty much what the audience has been manipulated into expecting.
