The Japanese film site Movie Collection has released a trailer for Anywhere in the World (Sekai no Dokonidemo Aru, Basho), an upcoming comedy by “Disciples of Hippocrates” director Kazuki Omori, who’s been sitting on the script for many years now.
Plot: Taguchi (Isao Kumakura), a man who’s wanted for fraud, seeks refuge from police in a seemingly deserted amusement park and zoo. While there, he wanders into a psychiatry clinic where he meets a woman who talks to animals (Etsuyo Mitani), guerilla soldiers, and various other eccentric patients. Before long, the delusions of the people there trigger a chain of events involving both the police and the criminal underworld, eventually spinning out of control in unexpected ways.
Guapa Guapo will be releasing “Anywhere in the World” at Shinjuki Cinemart and Shibuya Human Trust Cinema from February 26, 2011 with more dates to follow.
