In a “Fallout” premiere packed with surprises, the Ghoul’s introduction is a nasty little treat. It’s a dark, blustery evening. Three men go grave-digging, but rather than robbing the dead, they’ve come with an offer. A rich bounty is up for grabs, and they need a little help to procure it. Honcho, the group’s leader, thinks he knows just the man for the job: a bounty hunter Honcho’s father used to work with, who’s been buried alive for years, maybe decades, at this very cemetery.
Things do not go according to plan for ol’ Honcho, but the scene executes its own ends with rousing style: It quickly establishes Walton Goggins’ Ghoul as a force to be reckoned with, while providing a delightful bonus for “Justified” fans: Goggins and Mykelti Williamson, together again.

NCIS has been part of the television landscape for the past two decades.
Following a two-episode backdoor pilot on Jag in 2003, the redundantly named Navy NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service debuted in the fall of that year.
Although it started slowly ratings-wise in its first couple of seasons, a franchise soon was born.
Now in its 21st season, NCIS has produced more than 450 episodes and six spinoff series, a record unmatched in TV history (although Law & Order fans doubtless will quibble).
Maybe now, shortly after the series said goodbye to its second-most popular character on NCIS Season 21 Episode 2, would be a good time for a hiatus.
That's insane, you say, what with two new spinoffs in the pipeline.
Look back fondly
Let's start with the fact that every day, on cable and streaming, fans can watch their favorite episodes from the golden years of NCIS, back before Abby, Tony, Ziva,...

Nick Offerman has been a bit of an Emmys bridesmaid so far, as the versatile actor has been nominated three times in his career but failed to turn any of them into cold, hard wins he can put on his shelf. This year, he earned his fourth nomination — and, surprisingly, his first one as an actor. He was nominated for Best Drama Guest Actor for HBO’s hugely successful video-game adaptation “The Last of Us.”
In the show, Offerman appears as Bill in episode three — “Long, Long Time.” Perhaps the most emotional episode of the entire series, Offerman is front and center of the drama and truly gets a chance to show off his acting chops. Bill lives a solitary life on his compound when the epidemic breaks out. But his uneasy quiet is disturbed when Murray Bartlett‘s Frank stumbles upon the land. Bill is reluctant to help the...

Murray Bartlett is having a very special moment. After winning his first Emmy last year, the actor has followed up that victory with not one but two nominations this year as he looks to continue his hot streak. One of those bids this year is for Best Movie/Limited Series Supporting Actor for “Welcome to Chippendales,” while his second comes for HBO’s drama “The Last of Us,” which amassed a whopping 25 Emmy bids. Specifically, Bartlett was nominated for Best Drama Guest Actor for his emotional role as Frank in episode three of the show.
That episode, titled “Long, Long Time,” was touted as one of the very best in the entire series and was certainly the most heartbreaking. The episode flashes back to Frank leaving Baltimore as the epidemic spread. Soon after, he stumbles across a protected compound belonging to Nick Offerman‘s Bill, who, at first, is reluctant...

In 2000, “The Practice” became the first drama series to receive five guest acting Emmy nominations in a single year. That record, which was matched by “House of Cards” in 2016, has now been shattered by “Succession.” Of the HBO show’s seven 2022 guest bids, an unprecedented four are in the male category. Included in this quartet of contenders is Alexander Skarsgård, who is back in the fold five years after taking home his first Emmy for his supporting performance on the limited series “Big Little Lies.”
Skarsgård earned this Best Drama Guest Actor nomination for his work in the third season finale of “Succession,” entitled “All the Bells Say.” His character, Lukas Matsson, was introduced two episodes earlier as a Swedish businessman considering selling his streaming platform, GoJo, to Logan Roy (Brian Cox), the founder and CEO of media conglomerate Waystar Royco. Gary Cole has officially signed on for NCIS Season 19, though not necessarily in the capacity one might assume.
CBS confirmed on Tuesday that Cole — whose previous TV credits include (but are by no means limited to!) The Good Fight, Veep, The West Wing and Midnight Caller — will fill the series regular role of FBI Special Agent Alden Park. And though longtime series front man Mark Harmon is expected to appear in a very limited capacity moving forward, sources stress that Cole’s character is not “replacing” Gibbs. We’re all trying to find ways to keep ourselves and/or our families/housemates engaged and entertained during this period of social distancing. Might I suggest a bit of horror?
Tor Books launched its own horror imprint, Nightfire Books, aimed at publishing fiction that “unsettles and delights, exploring the full range of horror, dark fantasy, and the supernatural” back in April. The imprint’s first publication is planned for early 2021, but that doesn’t mean it’s not putting out some chilling content in the meantime.
In February, Nightfire Books launched Come Join Us By the Fire, an audio-only anthology of 35 horror short stories available to listen to for free. The collection offers almost 10 hours of creepy content, is narrated by Gerard Doyle, Ramon de Ocampo, and Saskia Maarleveld, and includes some of our favorite authors, including Joe R. Lansdale, Paul Tremblay, Sam J. Miller, China Miéville, and Carmen Maria Machado.

Now that nearly every show that I enjoy has aired their respective season finales, I must admit that Supernatural‘s had the most profound effect on me. Boasting one of the series’ best cliffhangers to date, “Moriah” saw God/Chuck revealed as the ultimate villain, as he’s quite literally bringing about the apocalypse. Sam and Dean Winchester may have averted such things before, sure, but the sh!t’s never hit the fan to this degree.
After traveling on “The Road So Far” for 14 seasons, some folks may wonder how the Winchesters’ final stop may differ from other offerings. If what was stated above doesn’t convince you, know that every soul has been freed from Hell and the dead now walk the Earth. And if that weren’t enough, every threat the boys had previously put down is now back in play – even those dating as far back...

The award for Best Drama Guest Actress was first presented at the 41st Primetime Emmy Awards in 1989, after years of the category going through various changes including mixing genders and lengths of appearances. Samira Wiley (“The Handmaid’s Tale”) would at the age of 31 become the youngest actress to win in this category, or if changes are taken into consideration, the youngest actress to win since Kathryn Walker. Wiley is nominated alongside two co-stars, Kelly Jenrette and Cherry Jones, as well as Viola Davis (“Scandal”), Diana Rigg (“Game of Thrones”) and Cicely Tyson (“How to Get Away With Murder”).

The CW’s “Supernatural” has always had a little “Scooby Doo” DNA in it, and now here’s more proof: The show is planning an animated crossover with the crime-fighting pooch and his pals next season.
“Supernatural” stars Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki announced the special episode, which will air as part of the show’s 13th season next year. Thirteen is a magic number for “Scooby Doo,” which once aired a series called the “13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo.”

They may not be General Zod or Darth Vader, but these characters are the kind of mundane villains you might encounter in everyday life...
The most memorable movie villains are often also the most outlandish. If you were to stop most strangers on the street and ask them to name screen villain, they’d probably either tell you to leave them alone and stop making them nervous, or they’d instead name one of cinema’s big hitters: heavy-breathing cloak-wearer Darth Vader, or flesh-eating aesthete Hannibal Lecter.
In reality, villains are more mundane. They seldom wear outlandish costumes, and they don’t necessarily even kill or injure people. Real-world villains can range from bullying and self-important bosses to aggressively opinionated news anchors, and from sadistic physical education teachers to heartless politicians.
So here are 10 or so screen antagonists who've stuck in the memory without wearing hockey masks,...

Gary Cole, who currently stars on "Veep" as Selina Meyer's senior strategist Kent Davidson, is -- for those who've been keeping track -- one of the most eclectic and slyly kooky performers alive. The 58-year-old actor netted his first major nomination last year (an Emmy nod for guest-acting on "Veep"), but his career has been a long, ascending spiral of dead-eyed caricatures and commanding dramatic roles. His august screen presence suggests a comfort playing white-collar blowhards, but that's the magic of Gary Cole: He's absolutely comfortable playing anything. That's pretty astounding when you realize he's played everything. Interviews with Cole, including ours from 2014's PaleyFest below, reveal that he's not a Crispin Glover type who's as unnerving (and nervous-making) as many of his signature roles. In fact, he kind of seems like a milder version of Kent. Perhaps it's his education at Illinois State University alongside fellow thespian veterans...

Former "Lost" actor Jon Gries, who appeared in the "Sam, Interrupted" episode of "Supernatural" Season 5, is returning to help out the Winchesters in an upcoming installment of Season 8.
ZAP2it learned that Gries will reprise his role as Martin Creaser, a hunter who worked with John Winchester many times while he was alive. In his first appearance on the show, Sam and Dean found him in a mental institution after the trauma of hunting got the better of him, but now he's out of the loony bin and back on the job.
In the upcoming episode, titled "Citizen Fang," Sam asks Martin to keep an eye on Benny after some unexplained deaths in Benny's hometown. Dean won't be particularly happy about it -- and when Martin finds out that a Winchester has teamed up with a vampire, he will not be impressed.

Do-no-wrong dialogue melodist Pam MacKinnon, one of the American theater’s most exciting directors, has assembled a near-perfect ensemble, including the charming, funny Andrea Lynn Green as Cutie, a young, would-be spinster, the unflappable Hallie Foote as the proprietor, and the great, great Jayne Houdyshell as their de facto matriarch, Miss Rowena. The backdrop is a quietly desperate all-women’s boarding house, serene in its stasis, destabilized by the coming of a divorced man (Jeremy Bobb) and a “fallen” woman (Jenny Dare Paulin). Censorious Alma Jean (Mary Bacon) protests, Cutie bursts spontaneously into tears, but it’s Miss Rowena, accompanying herself on rocking chair,...

And about time, too! We had a pretty good indication that Supernatural would be renewed for an eighth(!) season when they announced last month that new showrunner Jeremy Carver would be taking over those duties from Sera Gamble, who has chosen to concentrate on other projects. Still, we kept waiting, and waiting…
Similarly, The Vampire Diaries has consistently scored well in the ratings for The CW, so again we were fairly confident, but still we were waiting to hear confirmation of a fourth season. Today is the day!
According to TVLine, the confirmation is an especially a good thing as Supernatural is set to end the current season with a giant cliffhanger. Which should also come as no surprise. And we have hope that something else good may come with that renewal, as Misha Collins has reportedly advised that he’d love to come back next season… Yes Please.

Chicago – Dennis Farina is Chicago. Born and raised in the Windy City, his persona and manner is everything Chicago – bold, classy and the true urban Midwest. His latest film is “The Last Rites of Joe May,” which features another actor who got his start in Chicago theater, Gary Cole.
Last month, at the Chicago International Film Festival, both actors did a press day promoting their gritty Chicago-based film, which was directed by Joe Maggio. “The Last Rites of Joe May” stars Farina in the role of a lifetime, permeating the wintry streets of Chicago as an aging small time hustler that everyone assumes is dead after he comes back from an extended hospital stay. Gary Cole has a small but significant role as Lenny, a neighborhood boss.
HollywoodChicago.com sat down and interviewed the two Chicago acting icons regarding their film and careers.

Carlsbad - LEGOs…those colorful blocks that snap together so easily. Many view them as a childhood toy, but they’re serious fun among collectors and adult builders. They can vacation at the American LEGOland. They can get those rare pieces at Lego stores across the country in malls. Lego video games featuring Star Wars, Batman and Indiana Jones are all the rage. Keeping up with what’s happening in Lego is about as foreboding a task as your mother keeping up with your LEGOs.
