The white streak in Nancy's hair is seen on her right side, but it was on her left side in A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984).
(at around 16 mins) In the first scene he is introduced, Joey has a tear drawn on his face just below his eye, which is not seen again, nor explained during the movie.
(at around 1h 25 mins) When Freddy's skeleton comes alive in the junkyard, the skeleton has the claw on its right hand, which is not possible because he was not buried with his claw. It was removed by Marge Thompson and stored in their wood stove. She says to Nancy "I took his claw" then shows her in A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984). Then it was discovered by Jesse Walsh in A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge (1985).
In the TV version, in the scene where the nurse seduces Joey, the nurse has a bra on instead of being topless. However, throughout the scene you can see shoulder shots that show she has no bra straps that they used from the theatrical version. It flips between bra and no bra throughout the scene.
(at around 1h 14 mins) When Freddy is attacking Taryn in the alleyway, he shoves both of his needle hands into her arms. In the next shot, he is shown inserting his left hand into her arm again.
(at around 5 mins) After Kristen wakes up in front of Freddy's house, you can see the children jumping rope and singing rhymes, yet none of the children's mouths are moving. However, it's possible that the singing was merely intended to create a surreal atmosphere on the soundtrack and not interpreted so strictly.
(at around 7 mins) While Kristen runs carrying the little girl, it becomes apparent that she's only running with a doll.
(at around 27 mins) When Max is putting them to bed, he goes to turn off the lights. He presses down on the switches and they are already down but the lights still turn off.
(at around 26 mins) It's clear that Will can't walk at all and that's why he's in a wheelchair. As Max lifts up Will to bed, the bottoms of Will's socks are visible. How can the bottoms of Will's socks be so dirty and have weight-on-feet marks if he can't walk?
At around 56 minutes, when Dr. Carver uses a rock to break the lock to open the door, he succeeds in smashing off the bottom key portion of the lock but leaves the U-shaped piece in the lock and opens the door. The U-shaped piece is what prevents the door from unlatching.
During the fight between Freddy and Taryn, Taryn stabs Freddy under the arm and if you look at his glove Freddy is missing the blade on his Index finger.
The opening credits wrongly attribute the quote "Sleep... Oh! how I loathe those little slices of death." to Edgar Allan Poe. In fact, none of Poe's recorded writings (poems, stories, etc) contain this phrase. The quote actually first appeared worded as "I don't sleep. I hate those little slices of death." in the film Journey to the Center of the Earth (1959).
(at around 53 mins) When the room starts to change and get hot, Kristen is heard screaming, "This isn't real!" but her mouth does not move.
At 11:09 in the examination room, Kristen can be seen saying something to the orderly when the audio has her shrieking instead. The talking was changed to shrieking instead after filming but they left in the clip showing her speaking.
A dream suppressing medication such as Hypnocil could not possibly have any positive effect, even if chemists could formulate it. Dreaming is associated with rapid eye movement sleep, which although not restful is an important part of the sleep cycle. Pharmaceuticals of the present day, never mind 1987, would not be able to suppress one without the other, making the exercise pointless.
In the beginning of the movie, the little girl in her nightmare asks Kristen her name, and she replies "Kirsten" rather than "Kristen." The former is the character's name in Wes Craven's original script for the film.
