Turbonegro samples this movie in "Oslo Bloodbath Pt III: The Ballad Of Gerda And Tore" in their album "Never Is Forever" from 1994.
When it came out, this film caused a debate due to its unsimulated sex scenes. In the opening sequence, leading actress Amanda Ooms, who plays the drug addict Gerda who prostitutes herself, has an eternally long and very realistic intercourse with John Ege which in the Norvegian film community is rumored to be genuine. In another extreme scene, Øyvin Bang Berven urinates for real over Ooms' face and breasts. Finally, there is a short scene in which Ooms really sucks Berven's penis. In magazine and TV interviews, Ooms said she didn't regret to have played in this movie: "No not at all. I did my job well there, but there are scene in which I had real sex and some other strange things. It's a movie on the border. It's a pretty sex-based movie. It is a little difficult to explain to my own children why I took that role. I guess I did it just because I got paid well."
