- A couple of instances of teenagers kissing.
- Andy's panties are seen in parts of the movie, when they are all looking the cave, walking upwards, etc. Her panties are then seen again mainly when she falls from the ship into the water.
Violence & Gore

- Steph punches Mama Fratelli in the jaw before jumping off the ship and swimming away.
- Mentioned in the sex & nudity section, Troy is shot up in the air while on the john and hits the ceiling head first then falls on the floor. He's unharmed. Played for laughs.
- Francis holds his hand out and ask his mom for her sword. They both are not paying attention and she taps the palm of his hand with the sharp edge of the sword and he yelps in pain, no blood shown.
- Kids are caught and tied up by the bad guys. Swords are held to their throats as they try to make them walk the plank one by one.
- Sloth is chained. Chunk is kidnapped and questioned by the bad guys and threatened with dismemberment by a blender. Francis yanks Andy by the hair he does the same thing to Steph and she tells him to stop.
- Fratelli brothers pull out guns and threaten to kill each other over pizza.
- Jake grabs Data and a boxing glove springs from his coat and punches him the face.
- Floor gives out from underneath Data and he falls and is nearly impaled by spikes. His friends cry thinking that he's dead but he informs them that he was saved by the pinchers of power. Same thing happens again to him two more times.
- Man is knocked unconscious by a water fountain. Hit sends him flying back first against a fence. Intended to be funny.
- Kids and the Fratelli's are attacked by a swarm of bats. No blood showed.
- Troy pulls up next to Brand in his convertible. Andy offers him a ride and he declines. Troy grabs his hand and accelerates to high speeds. Andy and Steph plead with him to stop but Brand who his on a kiddie bike ride off a short cliff. He's later showed with a few scrapes on his face.
- Characters are threatened with guns, but they are never shot, only shots we hear are in the background. No injury detail shown.
- The Goonies watch two men enter a restaurant, and several gunshots are heard. We later on see the three villains carrying large garbage bags to the kitchen through a window and it is implied the corpses are inside.
- Chunk relates a story about dumping fake vomit from a movie theater balcony onto people below, causing patrons to actually vomit on each other.
- Jake and Francis wrestle/knock heads/try to choke each other.
- Adventure and action including chase sequences and adult threats to children with guns and swords.
- Children escape death by multiple booby-traps throughout the movie.

- A boy plays a trick on a cleaning woman who doesn't speak English by translating normal house chores instructions to sorting "drugs" into drawers, mentioning marijuana, cocaine, speed, and heroin.
Frightening & Intense Scenes

- Chunk is seen sobbing intensely while being question by the bad guys because they threatened to put his hand in a blender.
- There are many scenes of peril and screaming. Too scary for some younger viewers.
- A skeleton is discovered with both it's legs crushed by a boulder and with insects such as worms, maggots and beetles crawling on it and coming out of it's eye sockets. Younger viewers will find the scene extremely frightening and will find it rather disturbing.

- Jake pretends to hang himself in order to escape from prison.
- Chunk is locked in the trunk of a car with a corpse that has a bullet wound to its head.

- "Son of a-" was used once, but it cut off before it finish the phase.
Frightening & Intense Scenes
- Chunk is tied to a chair and put in a room with chained up Sloth. Bad guy threatens to break his legs if he tries to escapes. When he sees Sloths face he yells and jumps up and down in his chair. Sloth is amused by this and does the same thing while laughing.
- Mouth and Andy are seen having panick attacks over the thought of being trapped in the cave. Data says if Chester Copperpot didn't make it out how will they. People that are claustrophobic will understand.
- Boys scream when Copperpots skull detaches. Tense music plays. Brand puts it back and is grossed out, wiping his hand on Mouths jacket.
- Mikey freaks and runs first time he see's Sloths face which is shadowed after seeing him being mentally and verbally abused by Jake. Later he takes the rest to see him and a jump scare moment when they here distant growling. They get even more frightened as they approach.
- In the deleted scene from the convenient store Chunk is seen licking out of various pints of ice cream while making slurping noises. Germaphobes might find that disgusting.
- Mama Fratelli is extremely cruel and physically hostile towards everyone, including her sons. When she and her sons capture the Goonies onboard the pirate ship, she threatens Andy with a pirate cutlass and forces her to walk the plank. Despite Andy's pleas that she can't swim because her hands are bound by rope, Mama Fratelli swings the cutlass at her, causing her to fall in the lagoon.
