There’s no case to big, no case to small, when you need help just call: Ch-Ch-Ch-Chip N’ Dale Rescue Rangers!
Akiva Schaffer and Andy Samberg along with John Mulaney are bringing some Lonely Island energy to the classic Chip N’ Dale: Rescue Rangers animated series. During Disney Investor Day, it was announced that Schaffer will be directing a hybrid live-action-animated feature of Chip N’ Dale: Rescue Rangers for Disney+.
Samberg and Mulaney will star in the movie which will also feature a cameo from Seth Rogen. We don’t know who is playing who or full details about the movie, but we’re pretty sure there will be plenty of instances of the team of adventurous sleuths exclaiming the team’s signature catchphrase “Rescue Rangers, away!”

I do have quite a strong affinity with animated movies but it’s perhaps surprising that it doesn’t come from when I was a child. The only animated Disney film I remember liking was Robin Hood and I honestly don’t recall enjoy any other animated films until I was an adult. TV shows is another thing altogether though. I couldn’t get enough of Transformers, Thundercats, Dungeons and Dragons, Gummi Bears and many many more. But as an adult I have, like most people, enjoyed almost every Pixar movie and more importantly the work from Studio Ghibli. Spirited Away is one of my all time favourite movies and I love so many of their films. It is these films that A Costume For Nicholas most reminds me of.

Genius Brands International has named Margaret Loesch, longtime entertainment exec and former CEO of Fox Kids Networks Worldwide, as executive chair of Kartoon Channel!, the new kids’ ad-supported streaming service launching June 15. David Neuman, former president of Walt Disney Television, was named chief creative officer.
Kartoon Channel! will be available in over 100 million U.S. television households and on 200 million mobile devices, said Genius, a publicy traded company formed in 2013 by a merger between Andy Heyward’s A Squared Entertainment and Genius Brands. Heyward (not the former CBS New president) is CEO.
“There is a huge appetite for quality children’s content that is family-friendly and safe. No less important, is having it available for free,” Heyward said. “It will be equally important to advertisers, who are increasingly finding fewer channels to reach viewers, in a universe dominated by pay services such as Netflix and Disney+.” He called Kartoon Channel,...

Disney has shared a new trailer for their upcoming Disney+ streaming service and it’s over 3-hours long! I don’t know if you want to spend over three hours seeing what Disney+ has to offer when it launches, but you have the option!
Disney+ also posted all of the films and TV shows coming to the streaming service on a super long Twitter thread, which I included below the trailer. As you’ll see there’s a ton of stuff that will be available that will make Disney fans happy. Gargoyles and several other classic 90s animated series are among them along with a lot of old weird films that have been pulled out of the Disney vault.
If you don’t want to watch the trailer or scroll through the Twitter feed, I shared the full list of titles for you. Check everything out below and let us...

We have this awesomely joyful video for you to check out of this incredibly talented pianist, Florian Mohr, playing all the cartoon intros of our childhoods in an almost 9-minute one take video where he blends together the sounds of our Saturday morning TV watching youth. Some highlights for me were the songs from Adventures of the Gummi Bears, Inspector Gadget, Animaniacs, and Tiny Toon Adventures. They are all super fun to listen to, and brought a big smile to my face. Check it out below, and let us know which theme songs were your favorites.

Don Lusk, an animator and director who worked on Disney classics including Fantasia, Bambi and Pinocchio before moving to Hanna-Barbera in the 1960s, died Sunday. He was 105. His longtime friend Navah-Paskowitz Asner, announced the news on social media.
Born on October 28, 1913, in Los Angeles, Lusk was just 20 when he joined the Walt Disney Company just after the Great Depression, as its animation studio was riding high on Mickey Mouse shorts. He would work on those cartoons for his first several years there before contributing to Disney’s second and third toon features, 1940’s Pinocchio and Fantasia. For the latter, Lusk worked on the classic “Nutcracker Suite” and “Pastoral Symphony” segments.
He went on to draw for cartoons and such classic Disney features as Song of the South, The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan and Lady and the Tramp, Sleeping Beauty and 101 Dalmatians, among others.

When we found out last week that Gordon the Gopher and other childhood favourites were being revived for a special, we got so excited we dug out our Edd The Duck lunchbox and started reminiscing about our first loves: Andi Peters, Zoe Ball and Phillip Schofield.
But when we started to talk about some of our favourite kids' TV programmes, there were blank faces in the office. And in fact, when we've brought up these classics in the past, we've been met by general bafflement. So below, we present just 6 of our favourite kids' TV shows that no-one remembers... Do you?
1. Incredible Games (1994-1995) - Tom Eames, senior entertainment reporter
It only aired for two series from 1994 to 1995, but The Incredible Games was one of the cleverest kids' games shows ever, and no-one seems to remember it.
Essentially The Crystal Maze for kids, it was set in a fictional Tron-like skyscraper,...

On tonight's edition of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Alicia Keys performed a soulful rendition of the theme song of Disney's Adventures of the Gummi Bears.
The animated show ran for 65 episodes and six seasons, from 1985 until 1991. It began on NBC, moved to ABC and the finished in first-run syndication. The Gummi Bears series tells the tale of a group of bears who are the last of their kind, live deep in the woods, and hold the secret to the coveted Gummiberry Juice.
The theme song is typically a catchy, jaunty tune but Keys chose to cover it in a very dramamtic way. Here's the original and then Keys' performance from tonight.
What do you think? Which version do you prefer? Did you watch the animated series?

Jimmy Fallon continues to be the king of presenting quirky musical numbers. On Wednesday, he welcomed Alicia Keys to NBC’s Late Night, where the singer's rendition of the Gummi Bears theme song really sold the idea that candy-inspired bears will fight for what’s right, no matter what. Story: Alicia Keys on Voting for Obama, Her 'Hunger Games' Connection For those needing a refresher, Disney’s The Adventures of the Gummi Bears ran from 1985-1991 and chronicled the tales of seven bears endowed with magical abilities, such as the power to bounce really, really high thanks to special juice they drank. It’s good to be the king! And by that I mean king of family oriented entertainment. For decades the House of Mouse has been pumping out animated classics. I was lucky enough to grow up during one of their renaissance periods, if you will. I not only got “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?,” “Little Mermaid,” “Beauty and The Beast,” “Aladdin” and of course “The Lion King,” but I got the Disney Afternoon block that included great shows like “Adventures of the Gummi Bears,” “Chip n’ Dale’s Rescue Rangers,” “Duck Tales,” and my favorite “Gargoyles.” There were more films to be sure but none of them had the acclaim of the former titles and Disney kinda just did their thing. Then Pixar was created and hand drawn animation and traditional Disney storytelling fell by the wayside. Thank goodness for the one-two combo of “Princess and the Frog” and “Tangled.” Though...

Another day, another potential viral sensation courtesy of the good people at "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon." From the show that recently brought you "Neil Young" and Bruce Springsteen singing "Whip My Hair" and Justin Timberlake's History of Rap comes... Tummi Gummi's very earnest rendition of the theme song to the animated classic "Gummi Bears," which remains one of our favorite candy-to-cartoon adaptations. Note: Voicing and embodying Tummi Gummi is "Late Night" writer Bashir Salahuddin, who we'd say more than does the "Gummi Bears" theme justice. On the original "Adventures of the Gummi Bears," Tummi Gummi was voiced...

There's something oddly unnerving about the anonymity of a voice over actor. On the one hand, their daily lives are not subject to the scrutiny of the media and paparazzi. They are free to go out to dinner or take in a movie without fans stopping them on the street for an autograph. But still, while you may not know their faces, many Vo artists have the most recognizable voices in the world.
Take June Foray, for example. June has been working steadily since the early 1940s. Though she won't confirm her date of birth it is generally considered to be September 18, 1917, making her roughly 93 years old. And at that grand old age, she is still working. In fact her new TV series, The Looney Tunes Show, is set to premiere on the Cartoon Network in February 2011. She will be reprising her beloved roles of Witch Hazel and Granny.
