Kenneth Johnson, the creator of the original V (1983) miniseries, supervised the writing of the sequel, but left Warner Brothers Television over creative differences before it was produced. His scriptwriting contribution is credited under the pseudonym Lillian Weezer.
Chris Farber was originally supposed to have the last name of "Faber", but Michael Ironside kept pronouncing "Farber", so they changed it. (This is why scripts and books will often have Faber rather than Farber).
The reptilian alien hybrid baby prop made a reappearance (its blue eyes changed to red) in an episode of the short-lived spin-off "V (1984)" television series. Several years later, George Clooney used the alien baby prop in a prank on the set of "ER (1994)," in a scene involving a "blue baby".
V: The Final Battle (1984) miniseries was screened a year after the original V (1983) miniseries in the US. In the UK, both miniseries were screened as one over five nights in summer 1984.
Some of the music composed by Dennis McCarthy, for Part 3 and the follow up series, was used again in Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987). Specifically, the music used in the last episode, when the Leader arrives on the Los Angeles Mothership the same music cue was used when "Q" appears in the "STNG" pilot, during the opening of the trial.
