Here’s a question for the Real Housewives of Atlanta fans out there. If two best friends stop being best friends, is it ever okay for either of them to start spilling the other one’s secrets? Does trust and loyalty end when the friendship ends? Or are there some things that are just sacred?
Answering that might help one figure out just how to navigate what’s going on between Kandi Burruss and Phaedra Parks in Sunday’s episode of Rhoa. Because these former BFFs have stopped being polite and started getting real — and it’s becoming very challenging...

Kandi Burruss and Shereé Whitfield suffer no fools on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. So when their respective baby daddies tried to step to them on Sunday’s all new episode, the Atlanta Housewives wasted no time putting them in their place.
For Burruss, 40, that meant reminding ex Russell “Block” Spencer that his own actions had caused their daughter, Riley Burruss, to push away from him.
The two had a tense phone conversation — which began when Spencer called Kandi after years of not speaking, telling her he was trying to mend fences.

So, it's now been a couple of weeks since The Incident took place on Grey's Anatomy, and now that the dust has settled we're looking back on the other small-screen deaths that have left us similarly destroyed.
Below, we've listed 17 of the TV demises we're still not over. In no particular order. They all made us sad. We're not crying, it's just raining. On our faces.
Warning: Just in case this doesn't go without saying, spoilers galore lie ahead. Some of these shows are finished, some are still on, but all of the episodes referenced aired in 2014 or earlier.
1. Joyce Summers (Buffy)
Spoiler: Joss Whedon is going to show up a few times on this list. The man has a self-confessed cruel streak when it comes to offing beloved characters, but the death of Buffy Summers' mother is in a different league even by Whedon standards.

When I do my Take Me To The Pilots entries each summer, I try to make them an optimistic survey of the season's new network shows. Yes, I tear a few awful pilots to shreds, but all appearances to the contrary, I'm a genuinely generous viewer of new shows, especially new comedies, since we all know that landing on solid footing is slightly easier for a drama pilot than a sitcom. Whenever I look at a pilot, I say "What is the pilot? And what is the show it's likely to become?" And in that process, the multi-part third question, phrased in different ways, is, "What is the best version of this show and what is the worst version and which potential outcome is more likely?" So I look at something like the "2 Broke Girls" pilot and I could acknowledge that if the show were to focus on Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs,...

Melissa revealed her secret and Caleb came clean about Ravenswood in Pretty Little Liars’ “No One Here Can Love or Understand Me.”
Could Ali Be A?
After losing their faith in Ali (Sasha Pieterse), Emily (Shay Mitchell), Hanna (Ashley Benson), Spencer (Troian Bellisario) and Aria (Lucy Hale) head to the police station to come clean about New York and squash Ali’s kidnapping story. They don’t go through with the plan, however, after a TV screens in the window in an electronics store flash video of Ali sneaking into the Rosewood hospital to visit Hanna, accompanied with the message: “We’re all in this together.” If A releases the video to the police, then they are never going to believe that the girls didn’t know Ali was alive the entire time she was missing. Defeated, Aria and Hanna head home while Spencer and Emily go to the Brew for some comfort coffee drinks.

We're deep into "Pretty Little Liars" fifth season, and A is officially back in action. Although, let's be real -- this hooded stalker never really left the sepia-toned streets of Rosewood, though s/he did take a brief vacation from the ritualistic stalking of a bunch of teenagers long enough for the PLLs to think they were free. Hah, please. After all, life in Rosewood wouldn't be complete without snarky texts and the occasional bout of arson.
Now that our favorite masked villain is back, there's a whole new slew of possible subjects and we've put together a list of contenders!
1. Alison Dilaurentis Does anyone else find it strange that A showed up in Rosewood at the same time as Alison? Sure, this dead girl walking was supposedly stalked to the point of fleeing her hometown, but don't forget that Ali is a compulsive liar with an advanced degree in sleuthing.

There's no doubt the collaboration of James Cameron and Arnold Schwarzenegger's on The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day are the duo's most popular films, but when it comes to True Lies it's the one film from Cameron where he really let loose with the humor and yet still maintained the level of action we've come to expect from him. The film is absurd in most every way and in the midst of telling a story about Harry Tasker (Schwarzenegger), a spy attempting to track down nuclear weapons sold to a terrorist organization, Cameron decides to deviate from that plot for a solid hour as the film's lead character suspects his wife, Helen (Jamie Lee Curtis), of infidelity. With the help of his partner (Tom Arnold) and all the government resources at his disposal, he spies on his unsuspecting wife in a movie that seems to have been pitched...

So why do celebrities like endorsing products? Well, Page Six's recent report is fairly instructive, as they reveal that Matt Damon got paid $150,000/second, or $3 million, for twenty seconds of work to feature in a new Nespresso spot with his good pal George Clooney. That coffee must be really good. Anyway, you can watch the "Monuments Men" pair bring their skills to selling java in a spot direct by Clooney collaborator and producer, Grant Heslov. And if Damon got $3 million, we're wondering how much Clooney got and if it was really worth it for Nespresso. Meanwhile, U.K. store Marks & Spencer has launched their “Christmas Magic & Sparkle” campaign with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, David Gandy and Helena Bonham Carter. It's a fairy tale-inspired spot that finds Huntington-Whiteley going on a Dorothy-like adventure (one in which the Victoria's Secret model loses her clothes at one point, obviously) in an advert that looks like it actually cost whatever Nespresso.

Spencer might have solved the mystery of her boyfriend’s murder — while losing her own mind in the process.

Not only is ‘Pll’ completely addictive, but the four budding stars have become overnight fashion icons! While each gal upholds her very own style, major props go to the girls’ costume designer for always keeping them at their best dressed. But can you guess who is most picky when it comes to wardrobe?
As the costume designer for ABC Family’s Pretty Little Liars, Mandi Line has played a huge role in defining the personalities — and, of course, styles — of the four main characters. One of the best parts about each episode is getting to see what looks our fave characters are sporting, and in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Mandi reveals the key to perfecting the girls’ wardrobes: buying items off the rack and recreating them to fit each character. While she rarely produces a fashion faux pas, Mandi admits that some of the show’s stars are easier to dress than others.

Mona bested Spencer at her best thing (Academic Decathlon) and so Spencer bested Mona at her best thing (Adrenalized Hyperreality Olympics). Mona tried to kill Spencer, and so Spencer tried to kill Mona. Emily uncovered various clues, all of which pointed to Detective Wilden fathering a child with Ali, and the last of which very nearly ended in Jason getting crushed by a falling elevator. Hanna ordered a name badge that says, "Hello, My Name is Gaydar." And Aria kissed her boyfriend's brother due to poor self-control and Edna St. Vincent Millay.
The Liars figured there was no reason to stick around the hospital after Jason shrugged off his casts and neck brace and IVs and jumped out of the window,...

It appears Ezra’s not the Only one with a paternity secret in Rosewood!
It’s a good thing Mona (Janel Parrish) isn’t living at Radley Sanitarium anymore, because they might need the extra room for Spencer (Troian Bellisario)! The normally level-headed liar started to lose her mind on the Jan. 29 episode of Pretty Little Liars — I guess that what happens when you find out you’re literally sleeping with the enemy — and her resulting breakdown may have thrown a serious wrench in the beautiful machine that is “Ezria.”
Aria (Lucy Hale) had planned on telling Ezra (Ian Harding) about his baby on her own time — and by that, I mean she was probably never going to tell him — but “A” isn’t one to wait around forever, so he/she/they gave the situation a little nudge, leading Spencer to spill the beans. Actually, she didn’t so...

That's right, everyone! The Pretty Little Liars Round Tables are back!
This week, staff writerTeresa Lopez, Leigh Raines and Carissa Pavlica gather around to discuss "Misery Loves Company." Issues include whether or not to trust Byron, what Ali's latest coming means and who the She is that Mona refers to when she's talking with Toby. With this show, the questions never cease!
So sit back and enjoy the ride - because at the end, it's your turn to share in the comments!
-------------------------------------------
What was Toby saying was "too soon" in the beginning scene with Mona?
Teresa: I think it was too soon to make a move on Hanna, especially after she just confronted Mona. It made it seem really obvious that Mona is still working as A.
Leigh: I think he was saying it was too soon after Hanna telling Mona to screw off to pull an A-ttack. It was obviously connected to Mona.

Plus, another suspect in Alison’s murder comes to light. Yes, another suspect.
Some anniversaries end with a romantic candlelit dinner; others end with a girl learning that her boyfriend has been secretly terrorizing her friends for the past three years. Sadly, Spencer (Troian Bellisario) experienced the latter on the Sept. 22 episode of Pretty Little Liars, as she finally discovered that Toby (Keegan Allen) is actually a member of the “A” team. He may look damn good in a towel, but Toby looks real bad in a hoodie.
He’s been playing Spencer like a fiddle for months, but the second he got sloppy, it was all over. After accidentally dropping a key next to Hanna (Ashley Benson) and leaving his bogus I.D. card for the Radley Sanitarium out in plain sight, Spencer finally confronted him. Even though he didn’t actually respond to her, it was still one...

Spencer learns Toby’s dark secret tonight — but will she keep it?
The moment Pretty Little Liars fans have waited three long months for is almost upon us: Spencer (Troian Bellisario) will finally discover that Toby (Keegan Allen) is a member of the “A” team on the show’s Jan. 22 episode — and it’s going to be intense.
“When Spencer finds out, she almost goes through the stages of grief: First, it’s denial, then anger, then sadness and, in her odd way, acceptance, too,” executive producer Marlene King tells HollywoodLife.com‘s sister site TVLine. “She’ll [initially] keep it a secret. That’s her journey through the first half of Season 3B, because she doesn’t want the girls to know — especially when she’s still trying to process and make sense of it.”
And Spencer’s reaction, Marlene says, is absolutely “gut-wrenching.”

Byron’s mistress dropped a bombshell on Aria this week that could tie him to the show’s biggest mystery!
I’m no detective, clearly, but after watching the Jan. 15 episode of Pretty Little Liars, I think it’s safe to say Byron (Chad Lowe) is looking pretty guilty. Not only is he a creepy dad to Aria (Lucy Hale) and a potentially abusive boyfriend to Meredith (Amanda Schull), but given the new information revealed by his mistress-turned-girlfriend, it’s also very possible he killed Alison (Sasha Pieterse)!
Aria and Meredith bonded over their mutual annoyance with Mr. Lowe — they obviously don’t see eye to eye with Lena Dunham — and Meredith dropped a pretty big bombshell: She knew that Alison had been blackmailing Byron. In fact, Byron came to visit Meredith the night Alison disappeared, but he left her apartment to meet up with Ali!

[Warning: Spoilers from Tuesday's episode, "Mona-Mania!"] Answers were given and, as is often the case with Pretty Little Liars, more questions were posed in the latest installment, appropriately titled "Mona-Mania!" Much of the episode centered on the girls' separate storylines and investigations, which included Aria's (Lucy Hale) personal investigation into her father; Mona (Janel Parrish) and Spencer's (Troian Bellisario) battle of the wits; and the mystery of Byron (Chad Lowe). THR highlights the biggest storylines of Tuesday's episode: 'Pretty Little Liars' Ian Harding on Ezra and Aria: There Will Be 'Emotional Fireworks' Byron Becomes Creepier and Creepier: Forget

The premiere of season 3B answered some of our most burning questions — and, of course, presented us with a million new ones.
The second half of Pretty Little Liars‘ third season kicked off Jan. 8 — “A” be praised! — and it was just as bananas as I’d hoped it would be: Mona (Janel Parrish) returned to Rosewood high, crazier than ever; we learned the real connection between Alison (Sasha Pieterse) and Byron (Chad Lowe); and we got a pretty good idea of who tried to kill Aria (Lucy Hale). See, I told you it was bananas!
Now let’s break what happened to each of our girls this week:
Aria
As if Aria’s life wasn’t complicated enough, Meredith (Amanda Schull) has re-entered the frame as her new history teacher — ironic! — and it looks like all of her lessons are going to contain less-than-subtle jabs at her relationship with Aria.

ABC Family’s addictive hit drama Pretty Little Liars returns at 8 p.m. tonight to finish the second half of its third season. As always, there’s a bevy of gnarly twists and turns to come — especially in tonight’s installment titled “She’s Better Now.” (There’s a big hint of what’s to come for you.)
We chronicled the coming season in our Winter TV Preview issue, which is available on newsstands now, but here are a few teases from the upcoming 11 episodes:

Plus, Aria learns a potentially twisted family secret relating to Alison's death! Fact: No one does Halloween like the good people of Rosewood. The Oct. 23 episode of Pretty Little Liars found our girls narrowly dodging death, while rocking killer costumes and grooving out to the musical stylings of Mr. Adam Lambert. Of course, not everyone enjoyed their ride on the "A" Train, as one character did come to an untimely end. Drumroll please... It was Garrett (Yani Gellman). We're not sure exactly how he died, or who killed him, but we do know that "A" trapped Aria (Lucy Hale) in a box with his corpse — which may have been the most disturbing moment in this show's history. But before Garrett died, he dropped a little knowledge on Spencer (Troian Bellisario): He swears he really didn't kill Alison. Jenna (Tammin Sursok) wanted her dead, so he pretended to hit her with the lacrosse stick,...

At the Rosewood Grille, the liars discuss the questions we all want to know the answers to: Is Jenna telling the truth? Is Lucas part of the “A” team? Is Melissa the black swan? Before they can even finish their dessert, Jason Dilaurentis storms in to confront Veronica about how angry he is at her choice to defend Garrett, and he believes there’s another reason she’s taken Garrett’s case. He might as well just have announced to the whole restaurant that Melissa’s the reason because his glare at his half sister tells all. Fed up with the Hastings, he continues hanging his posters offering $50,000 to anyone with information on Alison’s body.

Note: Do not read on if you have not seen Season 2, Episode 23 of ABC Family's "Pretty Little Liars," entitled "Eye of the Beholder."
Apparently, we missed a pivotal couple hours of "Pretty Little Liars" life. I get it, it's a TV show. But still, it's kind of frustrating where this week's episode picks up after last week's cliffhanger: Aria's friends had their backs turned in Brookhaven when some dude mistook her for "Vivian" (i.e. Allison in a brunette wig) thanks to her red trench coat.
Now, the quartet is sitting at Lucky Leon's and going over the Brookhaven events. "When we noticed you didn't come back, he was gone," Emily explains. Or doesn't. What does that even mean? "They're like trying to solve a murder! Were they not worried that she could have been abducted?" my mom questions.

Tomorrow is the day where the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences celebrates the movies. We’ve waited all year and its finally here. By the time host Billy Crystal delivers his last punchline and concludes the 84th Academy Awards, the evening will have seen many celebrity-presenters appear on the Oscar stage at the Kodak Theatre.
Here’s my predictions for Hollywood’s big night.
Actor in a Leading Role
Demián Bichir in .A Better Life.
George Clooney in .The Descendants.
Jean Dujardin in .The Artist.
Gary Oldman in .Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.
Brad Pitt in .Moneyball.
Clooney’s performance was like none other he’s given before and with Slumdog Millionaire, Natalie Portman (Black Swan) and Jeff Bridges (Crazy Heart), Fox Searchlight is on a roll. However, The Artist’s Dujardin will take home his first Academy Award.
Possible upset – Brad Pitt is an all around good guy...

We've written, by vague estimates, something close to 80,000 words on the Academy Awards in the last six months. That's novel-length. And in two days time, it'll all be done, with the ceremony finally taking place at the no-longer-Kodak Theater at around 5pm Pst.
As such, we're not going to bother you too much with small talk: below, you'll find my final predictions for who's going to win on Sunday night. Tomorrow, the Playlist's boss man will weigh in with his own picks. And on Sunday, we'll be live-blogging the ceremony and winners, before final analysis comes in on Monday morning. Have a good Oscar weekend, boys and girls.

Sometimes, the nomination is the prize. Even in more open years than this one (where many of the major prizes have been locked in for weeks, if not months), only two or three of the nominees have had a realistic chance of winning, with the others merely filling out the field. Which is not to say that they're not deserving. Indeed, quite often, the anointed winner is in that position because they're overdue, or they're part of a film that's sweeping the Oscars in general, or any one of a number of reasons.
Sometimes, the most deserving winner is the one that stands no chance of actually picking up the prize. So, with the Oscars only slightly more than 48 hours away, we've picked five wins that, while extremely unlikely, would make us entirely delighted if they happened. Let us know any potential wins of your own that would make your...

The 84th Academy Awards will pay homage to the Golden Age of Hollywood. The perceived Oscar frontrunner, .The Artist,. is a black-and-white silent movie, while one of the Oscar Best Picture contenders, .Hugo,. touches upon the life of Georges Méliès and his magical .Trip to the Moon. hollywoodnews.com: Octavia Spencer has been a gracious winner all awards season long … which is important, because virtually every time she claims a trophy, she’s triumphing over her “Help” co-star Jessica Chastain.
Yet at every awards gala, the women of “The Help” come across as the picture of solidarity, and every win – and there were three key victories at the SAG awards Sunday night – is a vote of approval for “Team Help.”

This morning, Jennifer Lawrence and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the nominations for the 84th Academy Awards. The winners will be announced during the televised ceremony on February 26, 2012. Let’s get right into the nominations:
Best Picture
The Artist
The Descendants
Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close
The Help
Hugo
Midnight in Paris
Moneyball
The Tree of Life
War Horse
Snubs:
Bridesmaids
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
The Ides of March
50/50
Shame
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II
The Artist and The Descendants may stack up on top alphabetically, but they’re neatly placed in this two-horse race with the B&W, silent era drama in the easy lead. An upset is possible, I suppose, but a Descendants win would be more upsetting since its one of the weakest in Payne’s career. Extremely Loud & Yada Yada comes as a huge surprise though. Chock it...

London -- It's spry versus spy as frothy silent movie "The Artist" and moody thriller "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy" lead the race for the British Academy Film Awards, Britain's equivalent of the Oscars.
"The Artist" received 12 nominations and "Tinker Tailor" 11, with each film up for best picture and director, and best actor nominations for leading men Jean Dujardin and Gary Oldman.
The other best-film nominees announced Tuesday were "The Descendants," "Drive" and "The Help."
In a diverse field not dominated by any single film, there are also multiple nominations for "Hugo," "My Week With Marilyn," "The Iron Lady" and "The Help."

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association presented the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards last night and there were a few surprises, not least how tame controversial comedian Ricky Gervais was in hosting. More on that later but for now the results are important (although are they, really? – Isn’t this the 6th cousin to the Oscars who the Oscars barely recognise and like a disgruntled relation has to contend with once a year?) and the two big winners were Alexander Payne’s The Descendants and Michel Hazanavicius’ The Artist with two major awards each.
George Clooney won Best Actor Drama for The Descendants, which also won Best Motion Picture Drama above critics darling The Help, but a lot of pundits were expecting this going in. The 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards take place Sunday night and though all the pre-show hype has been about what controversial host [1] Ricky Gervais will say when he takes the stage, there are some important awards to discuss too. Though the validity of the Globes are regularly questioned, it's extremely influential simply because it's live on television and everyone is watching. For films like The Artist, Midnight in Paris and The Help, a win at the Globes could mean a direct route to the Oscars. In case you aren't watching, we've got you covered. I'll be updating this post with all the winners as they happen. Plus, I'll keep you informed of which celebrities take a thrashing courtesy of Gervais, who, if anyone, gets extremely drunk and all of the other potential craziness that occurs when Hollywood's elite sit in a ballroom with free, unlimited booze and live television cameras.

After a promising start to the second half of the season, I was a little let down by this week's episode of Pretty Little Liars, "A Hot Piece of A." There was plenty of drama, danger and even a little romance, so we had plenty to enjoy. However, I just didn't buy the whole Lucas plot. I've always been a fan of that adorably geeky guy, and I can't believe he's the newest suspect.
Let's start with the relationship drama. It's bad news for Ezria fans! Aria still seemed pretty optimistic about their future, despite the looks of anger, betrayal and disappointment her parents kept throwing her way. Ezra was a little more realistic, especially after Byron stopped by for a little visit.
Chad Lowe did an amazing job with this scene! The whole exchange was tense and totally believable. As a father, Byron has trouble imagining his little girl...

Lucy Hale's Aria is probably going to wave goodbye to Ian Harding's Ezra. In a sneak peek for the upcoming episode of "Pretty Little Liars", her father (Chad Lowe) is seen confronting her lover. The former is being protective of Aria as he forbids the later to ever see her.
"I want your assurance that this was a mistake and that it's over," Byron says to Ezra before adding, "You are never seeing Aria again. Ever! And I will make sure that the police see to that." The future of Aria's relationship with Ezra will be fully unfolded when the teen drama returns in a new episode entitled "A Hot Piece of 'A'".
Airing January 9, the upcoming episode follows Aria, Emily, Hanna and Spencer as they think that they may be closer than ever to figure out the real identity of A. Hence, the girls decide to enlist...

Note: Do not read on if you have not seen Season 2, Episode 15 of ABC Family's "Pretty Little Liars," entitled, "A Hot Piece Of 'A.'"
It's been one TV month (four real ones) since Hanna, Emily, Aria and Spencer sat dirtied in party dresses at the Rosewood Police Dept, suspected of homicide.
Now, they're picking up trash while donning far less fashionable, but equally filthy orange jumpsuits as a group of grammar school children play jump rope and chant a rhyme about liars that sounds exactly like last season's finale. Subtle.
The other girls picking up trash aren't fans of the "Pretty Little Liars." They gossip within earshot of the foursome about how, thanks to Spencer's lawyer mom, they got community service "for tampering with evidence" even though "the cops think they killed someone."
Soon enough, it's clear Emily and Spencer are not on good terms. They start...
