With “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” playing out its second weekend in global theatrical release, much of the chatter around the film has focused on its baddie, one of the seemingly countless variants of Jonathan Majors’ Kang. The Marvel marketing machine is pitching the would-be conqueror as the next Thanos-level threat, with appearances in this third “Ant-Man” and the first season finale of “Loki” before getting his name in the title in the summer 2025 release “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.”
For a look at what makes Jonathan Majors’ Kang a different kind of threat, and a different kind of character from Josh Brolin’s universe-killing Thanos, TheWrap spoke with Jeff Loveness, the screenwriter behind both the recent “Ant-Man” threequel and the upcoming “Avengers” team-up flick.
Loveness spoke about Kang, what he does or doesn’t know about future Kang-centric adventures and why he used the opportunity to give Michelle Pfeiffer an MCU spotlight.

This past Sunday marked the 10th anniversary of BBC’s Sherlock. To celebrate the occasion, creators Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss and producer Sue Vertue took part in a virtual Q&a, hosted by Louis Moffat, and answered questions posed by fans. One of the most interesting segments of the 25-minute video came when they were asked about the possibility of a female Sherlock Holmes and who could play them.
Moffat initially suggested former collaborator Michelle Gomez as a potentially good choice. The Scottish actress is most known for playing Missy on Doctor Who and Madam Satan on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Gatiss then put forward Phoebe Waller-Bridge of Fleabag and Solo: A Star Wars Story fame, while Moffat came up with a second choice in The Crown’s Olivia Colman. Vertue, meanwhile, suggested Killing Eve icon Jodie Comer.

The 10-episode comedy series “The Great” premieres on Hulu on May 15 telling a fictionalized story of the rise of Russia’s Catherine the Great (played by Elle Fanning). It was created by Tony McNamara, who earned an Oscar nomination for co-writing another skewed royal history, Yorgos Lanthimos‘s offbeat 2018 film “The Favourite.” So does his followup live up to its title?
As of this writing “The Great” has a MetaCritic score of 74 based on 16 reviews counted thus far: 11 positive, 5 somewhat mixed, none outright negative. Over on Rotten Tomatoes, which classifies reviews simply as positive or negative, the series is 80% fresh based on 25 reviews, only 5 of which are rotten. The Rt critics’ consensus summarizes the reviews by saying, “Gorgeous, if gratuitous, ‘The Great’ can’t quite live up to its namesake, but delicious performances from Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult and a wicked sense of humor make it a pretty good watch.

Now this is the reason why surprises are always welcome. In the middle of all the hype surrounding the music of some of the multi-crore biggies (some of which have impressed, and some which haven’t), there is a dark horse in the form of Tamanchey which has scored a hat-trick in quick time. What seemed like a one off instance, courtesy the superbly done new version of ‘Pyaar Mein Dil Pe Maar De Goli’, has taken a full-fledged avtar, courtesy ‘In Da Club’ and now ‘Dildaara’ striking the right chord too.
Of course to begin with, all eyes were on the chartbuster song ‘Pyaar Mein Dil Pe….’ from Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Mahaan’, which created a first major impression when heard along with the well cut promo of Tamanchey. With young ones like Nikhil Dwivedi and Richa Chaddha in there, the quirky theme of the film – what with con, heist...

Abhishek Bachchan is thrilled to hear that the upcoming film Tamanchey is using the classic song ‘Pyar Mein Dil Pe’ as its tag line.
The original song, from Amitabh Bachchan’s 1983 film Mahaan co-starring Waheeda Rahman, Parveen Babi and Zeenat Aman was a huge success and is one of Abhishek’s favorites. It was sung by Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhosle, with R.D. Burman’s music direction.
Suryaveer Singh Bhullar’s Tamanchey is now reviving the classic with Bappi Lahiri. The version clearly shows how music has evolved over the last 30 odd years. While the song has a new age feel to it, it still keeps the essence of the original classic, making sure to attract Bollywood fans of all ages.
Tamanchey stars Nikhil Dwivedi and Richa Chadda and is directed by Navneet Behal. It is produced by Wild Elephants Motion Pictures in association with Fashion TV- marking its entry into the Bollywood film-making business.

Every major actor and actress in Bollywood will at one stage attempt the double role. It is up there on every distinguished star’s curriculum vitae. There a countless examples Hum Dono (Dev Anand), Ram aur Shyam (Dilip Kumar), Seeta aur Geeta (Hema Malini), Apu Raja (Kamal Hassan), Chaalbaaz (Sri Devi), Kishan Kanhaiya (Anil Kapoor) and many many more. In addition to these we have Amitabh Bachchan’s own contributions to the double role genre, but to celebrate 100 years of Indian cinema and its great tradition of double roles, we thought we would choose a slightly different film – Mahaan.
A triple role! Now that is is a completely different level and there is only one actor, the superstar of Indian cinema, who has truly attempted and achieved that – Amitabh Bachchan. Father, son and son – that was Mahaan. The father donned a beard, one son a moustache, the other clean shaven.
