Sexy, Beautiful and Believable!
carchero30 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I saw The Haunting Passion when it first appeared on tv. I have always loved Jane Seymour movies since I first saw her in Sinbad Eye of the Tiger in the 70s. I'm a hopeless romantic and loved the previews of The Haunting Passion, liking the sexy vibe, but since I'm not a fan of scary movies, this one started creeping me out! I didn't know if Jane Seymour's character was having a nervous breakdown or what! But after the first 'love scene' I had to keep watching to find out what in the world (or 'other world') was going on! When the real story was revealed I must say I was surprised because I didn't see that coming! Such beautiful & handsome actors and great director/staff! Their talents helped make this story believable because it could have easily come across as stupid and not worth the time to watch. Enjoy!

Sexy and Eerie, a great movie
say197825 October 2001
The Haunting Passion, what a title and what a movie. Jane Seymour was completely believable in her intimate scenes with her ghostly lover. The confusion over what was happening to her and the guilt that she was feeling were, in my opinion, award worthy. Gerald Mcraney's character, the poor self-absorbed husband of Diane-Jane Seymour, didn't know whether he was coming or going. He didn't know if he should be looking for someone to kill, or if he should have loaded his, seemingly, insane wife in the car and escorted her to the nearest mental facility. The ending left much to be desired, with as good as the rest of the movie was it deserved a better ending. Even though the ending wasn't exactly wonderful, the rest of the movie made up for that. So if you're flipping through the channels and see Jane Seymour making out with herself, or the wind, stop and watch; you won't be disappointed. If you have the WE cable network look for it, they may show it again, with no interruptions!

Surprisingly Good

Although this movie didn't obtain a great success, it is surprisingly good, in fact it is one of the best "soft horror" movies i ever saw.

If you love horror movies involving ghosts, spirits or beings that you never actually get to see in the "flesh" form, you will love this one.

Jane gives a wonderful performance and is as beautiful as she ever was.

One of those movies with such subtle ingredients that will bring some shivers to your back. Music score is perfect too, creating a haunting-mysterious atmosphere around it rare to see in this days horror movies.

As a curiosity, the 90s "Baywatch" TV series had an episode that was almost a replica of the argument in this movie, although a very bad replica indeed.

Perfect Jane Seymour vehicle for lovers of romance movies

Warning: Spoilers
The Haunting Passion is a perfect Jane Seymour vehicle for lovers of romance movies.I just watched this movie again last night and I enjoyed the story as much as I did the first time that I watched it.I purchased the big box VHS tape from USA Home Video several years ago and have enjoyed this movie twice.First off I am a big Jane Seymour fan and I am also a big fan of Gerald McRaney. The two are very nicely matched in this movie.Millie Perkins who played Anne Frank many years ago was cast as the best friend. The story is a bit strange but that is why I like it.The beach and the house on the beach scenes are lovely to look at.If you love romance and you are a Jane Seymour fan check this one out.I have this movie.

Who wouldn't want sexy Jane Seymour !
aesgaard4115 November 2000
Warning: Spoilers
Great movie, great plot with a hauntingly romantic story.Jane Seymour and Gerald McRaney [before he was a star] move into a cliffside house by the sea. There's a bit of a spoiler here as I tell you that another house used to sit on the site [but then isn't that the case in all haunted house movies]. A previous inhabitant haunting the house goes after Jane as she tries to figure out what is happening to her and her husband can't figure out if she's having an affair or not.No one is ever coming or leaving his house ! While the ghost angles are played down for the sake of the movie, the romance will surely tug at any real romantic, but the ending is one big goose-egg that nearly ruins the whole thing.Nevertheless,it's a small complaint for an otherwise impeccable film.I just wish life went as charismaticly as this film.

Passionate, Romantic, Supernatural and an amazing Jane Seymour; this forgotten Tv movie offers a pleasant surprise in all aspects.
nowrozefarhan24 February 2021
Blending supernatural elements with eerie passion and a deserted, lonesome palace being the location, the tone is set from the very beginning with intense sound. The plot is fairly common. An ex-football player, with her beautiful wife, who is a painter(Seymour) , moves in a big palace just offshore the rocky beach of north-western America. Soon the wife begins encountering suspicious activities in a house that may be haunted. The plot goes on to the end revealing the mysteries: sounds familiar. But this movie takes the route in a different ,unique way. Using Seymour's amazing acting skills and her beauty, the film portrays something which may fall under the category of supernatural romance or mild horror , or maybe even of those eternal loves. In my subconscious, I was thinking what if it may be related to Somewhere in Time, where Seymour acted as well, some similarities being there. Whatever it is, you will surely enjoy it. Sadly, it only has 500-odd ratings in IMDb. These types of films deserve more viewing. It's available in Youtube, in case anyone is interested.
