Diane Franklin talked about doing her first nude scene in this film in a 2017 interview with the site CrypticRock. "At the time when I did it, I felt my gosh I'm doing this film and, as an actress, is the nudity going to affect my career? I didn't personally have a lot of problems doing it, for myself, but I was nervous. I was nineteen and I had never done something like that before. At the same time, because I had started in the business so young, I was prepared emotionally, I knew that it was an opportunity for me. I had worked so hard on other films, Soap Operas, theater, commercials, that when the opportunity came up I said, 'Well if this is the film I'm doing as my first film, I'm going to put my heart into it. I'm going to make this cool film, from my perspective.'"
Diane Franklin (Karen) is deaf in her left ear. Which is why you see her walk very briefly with her moped she never rides it. When you're in any way hearing impaired it messes with your balance to where riding a bicycle or a moped or motor bike is impossible. She said this while on set.
The original film "Lemon Popsicle" [Lemon Popsicle (1978)] was set during the 1950s, but this remake updated its settings, and its soundtrack, to the 1980s.
The movie and its precursor "Lemon Popsicle" [Lemon Popsicle (1978)] were both based on a situation which happened to the film's director Boaz Davidson during his youth.
