- Adm. Sherman: All right, let's admit we take the beaches. We land here, at Inchon. What's say we can't reinforce the Marines for the whole of 12 hours? What's to prevent another fiasco like at Anzio?
- Gen. Douglas MacArthur: Admiral, I was not at Anzio.

- Titles: This is not a documentary of the war in Korea but a dramatized study of the effect of war on a group of people. Where dramatic license has been deemed necessary, the authors have taken advantage of this license to dramatize the subject.
- Jean MacArthur: You just have to believe that this is what you were born for; all your life has been leading up to this.
- Gen. Douglas MacArthur: I can almost hear the ticking of the second hand of destiny. We must act NOW or we will die! Inchon will succeed and it will save 100,000 lives.
- Sgt. Augustus Henderson: What else you do, try to kill this car too? Ow! Damn that's hot.
- Barbara Hallsworth: Is it fixable?
- Sgt. Augustus Henderson: Yeah, yeah, just good old American know how. Trouble is I don't know how.
- President Harry S. Truman: General, the United Nations have authorized me to let you know you are to be appointed Supreme Commander of the United Nations forces during the coming police action.
- Gen. Douglas MacArthur: It's a great honor, sir, and I hope to prove worthy the only way I know how.
- President Harry S. Truman: How's that, General?
- Gen. Douglas MacArthur: [MacArthur rolls his eyes] By defeating the enemy, of course.
- Gen. Almond: Just wait until the 24th get here. Once our boys are in action, it'll be a pushover.
- Gen. Douglas MacArthur: Depends on who pushes who.
- Gen. Douglas MacArthur: Young man, you and I have lived to witness a miracle. The United Nations - I'm sure Russia abstained - voted to work together to prevent... no, oppose violence, aggression, something which if done in 1939 might have saved the lives of around 30 million people from battle, starvation, and gassing.
- Lt. Alexander Haig: I guess that's something.
- Gen. Douglas MacArthur: Something. I'll tell you, it's the first time... it's probably the only time it's ever going to happen. It's time you got some shut eye, young man. We're going to war in the morning.
