Shot 1978, not released until 1982.
For the scene where The Spirit awakens a naked, sleeping Lisa using his demonic powers to pull the sheet off her, a wire was attached to the sheet to pull it off of actress Lana Wood while she laid in the bed naked.
Released theatrically in 1982 under three different titles. First shown as 'Fury of the Succubus' on Apr. 23, it played under this title through the end of June, mostly in Florida (where it premiered) with sporadic dates in Arizona, Texas, Louisiana, Missouri, Kansas, Ohio, New Mexico, Pennsylvania and Hawaii. On April 30 it had a three-week run as 'Demon Rage' in southern California. Its widest release was as 'Satan's Mistress', beginning June 23. It played much of the U.S. under this title and was still being shown as late as October 1987.
The film gives higher screen credit to Britt Ekland, who had only a minor role but more star power, having previously played Mary Goodnight in The Man with the Golden Gun. Lana Wood is known to many as Plenty O'Toole from the James Bond film Diamonds Are Forever. Kabir Bedi was featured as the Bond villain's henchman Gobinda in Octopussy.
