Paul Rudd got a bit of a well-deserved “not-mad-just-disappointed” stick from his friend Olivia Colman when she prank-called him on a BBC Radio 1 show Friday morning, Feb. 17.
Rudd, in London for the new Ant-Man press tour, was doing a call-in segment called “Agony Ant-Man” where he dished out advice to troubled callers (think Frasier but make it Marvel, or something like that). This is when Colman called in, just slightly disguising her voice, and asking Rudd a very specific question.

Set in St. Louis but shot in coastal Virginia, attempting to wrestle tough sociopolitical issues while sporting the neon hues of a stylized neo-noir, “The Gateway” lets itself get pulled in too many directions for any of them to be well-realized. Nonetheless, this crime melodrama represents an advance for commercials and music video director Michele Civetta over his first feature, the occult muddle “Agony,” with improved control over performances and pacing. The implausible but diverting Lionsgate release is launching in limited theaters, on demand and digital Sept. 3, with disc formats following a week later.

Sometimes I feel a little sorry for low budget horror film makers today. Dial it back 30 years, you could make an incompetent piece of cinema, but put in enough hokey bloodletting, regardless of how laughably unrealistic those sausage string guts were, and you might well have a money-spinning film on your hands. Even objectively poor films like Driller Killer managed to (very deliberately) whip up enough conservative anger to ensure that a poorly made, dull film became widely seen, and naturally far more successful as a result.
Today, blood is not nearly enough. Some of the films I see today with a 15 certificate would have faced heavy censure back in the Mary Whitehouse days of video nasties. A time when films would...

Bulloch wore Boba Fett’s armor in both The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, though the character was voiced by Jason Wingreen. Interestingly, the character first made a small appearance in the infamous 1978 Star Wars Holiday Special.

Before the brakes of civilization screeched to a halt, 2020 was shaping up to be an exciting year for me: “Agony,” a psychological thriller I produced and directed in Italy starring Asia Argento, was set for a 10-city theatrical release via our distributor Gravitas Ventures. One week before the April 3 release, I received a phone call from Gravitas’s VP Brendan Gallagher, asking if we should agree to forfeit the theatrical release and shift focus on the VOD day-and-date release that was planned. Just like that, the assembly line of Dcp’s, theatrical bookings and PR halted. It was a mutual decision that reflected some of the bigger questions in relation to what filmgoers have witnessed as the moviegoing experience vanished from our culture.
Filmmakers make films to see them projected in the collective dream space of cinematic cathedrals, but for a film of the “Agony” scale it has always seemed...

Since the previous evening, a few strings have been showing up on different dialog sheets around the web with players raising objections over voided rewards at AllVideoslots. As indicated by the players, AllVideoslots cases to have been having specialized issues with Merkur openings which has enabled clients to bet wagers without having cash in the record.
Having made an effective withdrawal of 158,000 Swedish Krona after a “fortunate” run on the game Rasputin, one player went to the Swedish gathering Flashback to approach individuals for counsel. Another player, figuring out how to developed his 25€ store to a 9000€ parity and afterward mentioning a withdrawal of 8200€, all of a sudden had his record deactivated. Refering to specialized issues with a similar game supplier, allvideoslots proclaimed all rewards void.
It’s not improbable to accept that a lot more have abused this specialized disappointment with huge aggregates having been paid out to clients subsequently.

From Russia with Schlock: Martinez’s Derivative Revenge Flick
While there’s certainly a modicum of perverse interest to be satisfied in witnessing the rotund Gerard Depardieu as an ex-con exacting vengeance on a gang of Russian hoods in the type of watered down B-action flick that’s about as originally conceived as the already derivative Liam Neeson franchise Taken (or Pierce Brosnan’s The November Man), Philip Martinez’s Viktor is neither of significant quality nor campy enough to justify its bizarre existence. Depardieu’s well-publicized tax inclined emigration from France to Russia may explain some of how this nonsense came into existence, but Martinez’s workmanlike march through a series of unenthusiastic events makes it seem as if everything was filmed in one, hurried take.
