Director Joe D'Amato did not want to sign this movie under his name, as he did not want it to be grouped with the many erotic films he had directed; he wanted it to be seen as an "erotic story in an exotic setting like PARADISE and THE BLUE LAGOON" instead. So he let the protagonist sign it with her name instead, also hoping that having Ingmar Bergman's daughter as director also would help the movie commercially; it did not.
