Madonna and Lil Wayne made a song together in 2009, but you probably don’t remember it. There’s a reason why it’s not one of the “Like a Prayer” singer‘s biggest tunes. The producer of the track explained why working with the Queen of Pop was anxiety-inducing.
Madonna and Lil Wayne made a song together with bizarre lyrics
DJ Frank E is not your average DJ. He’s produced hit tunes like Enrique Iglesias’ “Tonight (I’m Lovin’ You),” Flo Rida’s “Whistle,” and B.o.B.’s “Airplane.” He knows how to straddle the line between pop and hip-hop. With that in mind, it makes sense that he produced a collaboration between Madonna and Lil Wayne. The song in question is “Revolver,” a track where the Queen of Pop brags that her love is a revolver and her sex is a killer.

Months before she won the 2023 Best Comedy Supporting Actress Emmy for the first season of FX’s “The Bear,” it was reported that Ayo Edebiri would move up to lead for season two. According to our odds chart, she looks set to become the 12th woman to reap both supporting and lead Emmy bids (in that order) for a single role on a single series. If she takes the gold again, she will become the first to win both comedy actress awards in that order for one show.
Edebiri’s win in the supporting race at the strike-delayed 75th Emmys was preceded by victories in lead for season two at the 2024 Golden Globe and Critics Choice Awards. Having just blocked Sheryl Lee Ralph (“Abbott Elementary”) from achieving back-to-back supporting Emmy honors, she now faces the challenge of fending off two former lead champions: Jean Smart and Quinta Brunson.

Greg Finley, a prolific voiceover actor whose many credits include animated fare like Robotech and live-action projects including The X-Files and Men at Work II, died peacefully February 1 of heart-related causes while on vacation at a family member’s home in Phoenix, Arizona. He was 76.
His death was announced by his son Guy Finley.
A voiceover actor with scores of credits stretching back to the 1980s, Finley (occasionally credited under the name Guy Garrett) had by that time already begun his show business career as an on-screen actor with small roles in episodes of, among others, Kolchak: The Night Stalker (1975) and, in 1981, Flo and The Misadventures of Sheriff Lobo.

Smash Mouth’s 1997 debut album, Fush Yu Mang, is receiving its first widespread vinyl release on November 24th via Real Gone Music.
Anchored by their first major hit, “Walkin’ on the Sun,” the original release of Fush Yu Mang has often been outshined by the success — and meme-dom — of Smash Mouth’s later hit, “All Star.” But long before Shrek or YouTube edits, the band was busy blending their hip-hop and punk backgrounds to forge an album that, according to Consequence’s Jonah Krueger, “rocks pretty damn hard.”
Now, the reissue of Fush Yu Mang arrives as the band is reflecting on their storied career and paying homage to their one-time lead vocalist, Steve Harwell, who died this past September after a long struggle with alcoholism.
The new pressing of Fush Yu Mang will arrive on November 24th, and is available on special, colored vinyl: strawberry pink with a black swirl.

Since 1991 (and primarily within the last 10 years), a total of six TV performers have earned recognition from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for reprising roles that had brought them Golden Globe nominations at least a decade earlier. With this and his own stellar HFPA track record in mind, Kelsey Grammer – the two-time Best TV Comedy Actor-winning star of “Frasier” – can more than reasonably be expected to join said prestigious club by scoring his ninth bid in the category (and first in 22 years) for the Paramount Plus revival of his beloved NBC sitcom. What’s more, he might actually make history as the first actor involved in such a situation to pull off a comeback victory.
Grammer collected his first eight Golden Globe nominations for “Frasier” between 1994 and 2002 and emerged triumphant in both 1996 and 2001. After saying goodbye to Dr. Frasier Crane 19 years ago, he is now set to lead a long-awaited...

After both making good on their recent efforts to become first-time lead acting Emmy contenders, formerly supporting “Succession” cast mates Kieran Culkin and Sarah Snook are naturally expected to be similarly bumped up on the next Golden Globes ballot. If they do achieve their first Best TV Drama Actor and Best TV Drama Actress notices this winter, the on-screen siblings will join a group of 10 other Golden Globe nominees who succeeded in rebranding their initially supporting characters as lead ones. As it stands, said club has not welcomed a new member – regardless of genre or gender – in two full decades.
Culkin’s Golden Globes resume currently includes three fruitless featured bids for “Succession,” on which he was bested by Ben Whishaw, Stellan Skarsgård and O Yeong-su. Since the fourth season of HBO’s “Succession” focuses on finally providing an answer as to whether Logan Roy’s media empire can survive in the hands of his three youngest children, it’s only fitting for the actors who play said offspring to now be on the same tier when it comes to awards consideration. Soon after former supporting Emmy nominee Kieran Culkin joined his TV brother (Jeremy Strong) and dad (Brian Cox) in submitting as a lead this year, Sarah Snook, who portrays youngest Roy sibling Shiv, followed suit. This move means she will very likely be counted among nine other women who each procured supporting and lead Emmy bids (in that order) for a single role on a single series.

“Flo,” a biopic of popular French sailor Florence Arthaud slated to world premiere at Cannes’ Cinema de la Plage, has been boarded by Other Angle. The French sales company will introduce the film to buyers at Cannes.
Set to unspool on May 19, “Flo” charts Arthaud’s unique achievement in the male-dominated world of sailing, notably her victory of the Route du Rhum, a transatlantic sailing race, in 1990. The movie also portrays Arthaud as a fiercely independent woman who chose to live her dreams to the fullest rather than follow her pre-determined path.
The film is directed by Geraldine Danon and is produced by Manuel Munz, in association with Metropolitan which will release the film in French theaters on Nov. 25.
“Flo” stars Stephane Caillard, Alison Wheeler, Pierre Deladonchamps, Charles Berling, Alexis Michalik and Marlyne Canto.

One-third of features films approved for support by France’s National Cinema Centre (Cnc) in 2022 had a women at the helm for the first time in history, according to figures released by the body this week.
The figures were collated by the Cnc’s Gender Equality Observatory created in 2014 to monitor the presence of women across the film industry. The data is drawn from information provided for French-initiated films (Fif) approved by the Cnc as being eligible for its different support schemes.
According to the report, 69 of the 208 Fif films approved last year were directed or co-directed by women, representing 33.2% of all the approved films.
This not does not represent an historic high in terms of the number of female-directed films, because in 2021 there were 265 Fif films, amid a spike in production following the Covid-19 hiatus, among which 81 films were directed or co-directed by women.

The final result, which she released last week, is a stirring reflection of Del Rey’s life and musical journey, mixing hip-hop production with jazz, classical, and folk touches. This project revels...

The Brits 2023 are officially over for another year, and it was Harry Styles's night. As predicted, the "As It Was" singer took home artist of the year, song of the year, best pop / r&b, and album of the year - marking the start of a very good 2023 for the former One Direction member, having won the best album award at the Grammys just a week earlier. Wet Leg and Beyoncé both won two Brits, while The 1975, Aitch, and Becky Hill also scooped the top prizes.
Styles sweeping the board even saw him enter an exclusive club, unofficially named the "4 Brits Club." Dave Rowntree, the drummer of Blur, tweeted on Feb. 12, "I'd like to welcome @Harry_Styles to the #4BritsClub. It's been a bit lonely with just us and @Adele these past years. Next meeting in March – you can bring the biscuits." While there are artists who have won...

Florence Pugh’s stylist called the actor “Miss Flo” in an apparent jibe at Don’t Worry Darling director Olivia Wilde.
The upcoming film, starring Pugh and Harry Styles, has been plagued by reports of behind-the-scenes drama, including a rumoured “falling out” between Pugh and Wilde.
One of the biggest indicators of this falling out came when Shia Labeouf, who was originally cast in Styles’ role, shared a video of Wilde asking him to return to the production.
Appearing to hint at friction with Pugh, Wilde says in the clip: “I think this might be a bit of a wake-up call for Miss Flo.”
On Monday (5 September), Pugh’s stylist, Rebecca Corbin-Murray, shared a photo of the star’s look at Venice Film Festival with Wilde’s phrase used as her short caption: “Miss Flo”.
Wilde had previously claimed that she fired Labeouf from the production to help ensure that Pugh felt “safe”, something Labeouf denied.

An actress receiving two Primetime Emmy nominations in a single year may seem like a rare occurrence, but it is actually fairly common. In fact, there have been 65 instances since 1967, including two last year involving Aidy Bryant and Jean Smart. What is uncommon is a woman earning double recognition within the same genre, with Bryant being one of only a dozen to ever be so honored (discounting guest categories). Now, Toni Collette has a shot at becoming the lucky 13th.
For her work on the two limited series “The Staircase” and “Pieces of Her,” Collette could be nominated this year as both a featured player and a lead. On the former show, she plays Kathleen Peterson, the subject of a real early 2000s murder case that ended in the conviction of her husband, Michael. It’s the piece of the puzzle Rami Malek’s Jim Baxter has been waiting for. The young—and now entirely ruined—LAPD police detective can stop wondering about the night before—the night his shovel cracked the skull of Albert Sparma (Jared Leto). At the time of the murder, there was no clear cut evidence Sparma was the serial killer that law enforcement was hunting—or that Sparma even committed a crime beyond being a full-on creep. But when Joe “Deke” Deacon (Denzel Washington) mails the younger man a red barrette, Jimmy knows he can at least have peace of mind: He killed a killer.
Of course life and the questions which keep you up at night don’t have answers as easy as a typical Hollywood movie. And peace cannot exist for those who...

Whether it’s the Devil sitting down at the piano in his penthouse or Lilith belting out a tune in a 1940’s club, music has always played an integral role in the Lucifer gestalt. With a full blown musical episode planned for the second half of season five, and the noir homage “It Never Ends Well for the Chicken” already in the books, it’s time to reflect on some of the fantastic musical choices showrunners Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich have made.
Series lead Tom Ellis (Lucifer) has sung on multiple occasions during the show’s five year run, and in an interview with DaMan, he could barely contain his excitement for the upcoming musical episode. “It was by far and away the most fun I have had doing anything on a set ever! Singing and dancing makes me very happy.”

It's been 30 years, but we all still remember the three rules: Don't expose them to bright light, don't get them wet, and never feed them after midnight.
"Gremlins," which opened on June 8, 1984, has been a pop culture mainstay ever since, playing often on TV, launching a number of careers, influencing countless other tongue-in-cheek horror movies, and even changing the way movies are rated.
Still, as familiar as you are with adorable Gizmo and demonic Stripe, there may be many things you don't know about "Gremlins" -- like the famous voices behind the gremlins, the in-jokes, and the film's role in the creation of the PG-13 rating. Read on for more secrets of the mogwai.

Many of the television winners have already been announced in glitzy fashion during this Canadian Screen Week, but with baited breath, we’re more keen on seeing how the film award honors will pan out. Last year’s Tiff saw Denis Villeneuve bring not one (Prisoners), but a pair of feature films and it is the offbeat, doppelgänger delight Enemy that should reap in the top awards of the evening. Last month, as the fate of ABC's Gcb hung in the balance, we were worried it would become a member of the "Gone Too Soon" club, TV shows that were snuffed out before they had a chance to flourish, or at least before we had a chance to grow tired of them.
Sadly, Gcb has gone to that big Upn in the sky, where it can run happily in the meadow with the likes of Firefly, Pushing Daisies, and Manimal.
While we mourn Gcb's loss, let's take a look at more shows that were ended too quickly. They were unappreciated at the the time, but they were either too good or too ... interesting ... not to have been offered the opportunity to flourish. Or flame out. Which is just as good.
