Two drug dealers men from the Italian Soderini mob clan are murdered in a short period, a finger amputated expertly from each. This links to a similar case months ago and deep undercover drug detective Tim Pegler, Hahn's former Afghanistan front comrade, whose own supervisor fears he may have defected and be murdered on, Matteo, but has a solid alibi for the last in prison infirmary after apparently taking a bullet fro her. The team may face two killers, motives remain unclear, such as Isabella Soderini, who already runs the clan's money laundering restaurant branch, succeeding the killed patriarch.

Kai Schenker (21), son of resigned cop Martin Schenker, Arthur's former colleague, is identified and runs. Martin slaps him but arranges legal defense from slick attorney Köbele, all associated with neighborhoods controversial extreme-right "vigilante patrol". The video isn't conclusive but shows Thu was armed with knife, the murder weapon missing and the victim's family's role and that of friendly landlord Joseph Böhnisch remains to be clarified.

Lots of client students were frustrated as even with the expensive help many fail the bar exam, including Robert Huber, the most ambitious of the three 'referendaries' (deputy repetitors), who pretends to his parents already to have passed but actually the while firm is in dire financial straits.
