The name "Korsbæk" is an amalgamate of two real Danish provincial cities: Korsør and Holbæk.
There's a rumor that the show was stopped because a storm ruined the set. The fact is that a storm hit the set in December 1980 and caused some minor damage, but it was fixed and the remainder of the series was filmed. The reason for ending the show was simply that director Erik Balling and head of entertainment at Danmarks Radio Jørgen Ifversen felt it was time.
Upon its fifth rerun on Danish television in 2006-07, the series was the most-watched programme for 18 out of 24 weeks and averaged a ratings share for its time slot of 73 per cent with in the vicinity of 1.4 million viewers per week.
In the series Karin Nellemose plays the daughter of Karen Berg, but in real life Nellemose was almost a year older than Berg.
