The event now involves creatives, technology innovators, policymakers, executives and thought leaders from around the world.
A survey published last year revealed children own their first mobile phone aged seven and will start to browse the internet as young as five years old. Over three days, the summit will look at the impact that digital technology will have on children and the future of the media.

Pedro Almodóvar has been making movies for nearly 30 years, and for much of that time, he’s been seen as one of the world’s greatest living filmmakers. In the meantime, he’s also occasionally helped other directors realize their visions, most recently as a producer of Argentina’s Lucrecia Martel on her new period drama “Zama.” IndieWire recently spoke to Almodóvar about “Zama,” which is currently in contention for the foreign language Oscar, but the director also mused on the way the filmmaking process has evolved since he first got into the game.
“I feel as passionate as when I directed my first movie,” he wrote in an email. “To write and to direct a film are still the most important experiences in my life. Everything else has changed though, particularly the way films are shown nowadays, the very many different ways someone can actually see something.”

The first petition was filed on Aug. 1, Wzzm reports; Jamerson’s request resulted in a court order barring Render from having any contact with Jamerson.

Ittefaq
Starring Akshaye Khanna,Sidharth Malhotra, Sonakshi Sinha
Directed by Abhay Chopra
This 2-hour thriller claiming to be a taut revisionist version of the 1969 classic produced by this film’s director’s father and directed by his uncle, actually seems to last much longer than its playing-time.
Ittefaq is one long stretch and a yawn. Unlike the origina,l the action in the remake jumps all over the place like a frog during the mating season. The characters run around a lot. But we are never interested in where they are going, or whom they were trying to bump off and why. This is not a whodunit. This is a whocareswhodunit disguised as a whodunit.
And the real murder victim is the original film’s script. Yash Chopra’s Ittefaq has been mauled and moulded into shapes that the original creators never intended. The real murder happens not in the...

Starring Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Shreyas Talpde
Directed by Shreyas Talpade
If you looking for some naughty fun this weekend you might want to try out this wacky piece of big-screen chortle… provided you can bear with the brainless bacchanalia sheathed in a sexual innocence that the protagonists are able to convey without straining at their collecting leash.
For a film about family planning and vasectomy there is a remarkable absence of vulgarity and double meaning in the conversations. The characters speak to each other loudly and irrelevantly. They don’t know any better.
Sunny and Bobby Deol are in the fun zone doing lowbrow comedy with disarming relish. Shreyas Talpade, with his redoubtable comic timing, joins the Deol brothers. The result is boisterous humour, not all of it funny or even coherent, I am afraid. In fact some of the gags overstay their welcome like bin bulaye mehmaan.

This was another film that got on my radar due to podcasting. When I was looking for podcast counting down their top films of the 00’s (because at that time I was obsessed with seeing...

As big a fan of Titan Comics as I am, and I love 95% of their output, I have struggled a little with the Dark Souls books they have put out. The format may vary, as may the creative teams, but Dark Souls in comic book form has too often seemed too fantasy generic to me. They’ve not been terrible or even bad, and I know there is a huge fan base out there, but for me they have at times come up short as good adaptations of the property they are licenced from. The Titan Comics Deus Ex book was good, the Assassin’s Creed books have been excellent, but the Dark Souls books have lacked the same spark. Maybe too much freedom in adaptation is a bad thing?...

Katherine Jackson's disturbing allegations against her nephew-in-law, Trent Jackson -- which he has previously denied -- continued in court papers she filed on Wednesday. Katherine filed the papers in support of her request for a permanent restraining order against him.
Katherine, 86, alleges in new court documents obtained by Et that she's fearful that recently terminating Trent's employment -- and his alleged refusal to leave her guest home in Calabasas, California -- will cause him to try and cause her "further harm." She says she's currently living under a doctor's care in London, England, in part because of "the stress this situation with Trent is causing [her]."
"I am afraid of Trent in my own home for many reasons," Katherine alleges in the papers. "I have no privacy since he has free run of the house. He tells the house staff and security that he is the 'House Manager.'"

Despite Donald Trump's claims that he's nothing but a "gentleman," a videotape surfaced this weekend showing the presidential candidate telling Billy Bush that women will let you "grab them by the p*ssy" when you're famous. In the wake of his lewd comments, women began sharing their stories of sexual assault on social media, including actress Amber Tamblyn. The 33-year-old Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants star posted a photo of Donald kissing the cheek of a beauty-pageant queen to Instagram on Sunday, along with a beautifully written, heartbreaking essay about her own sexual assault. With the support of her husband, comedian David Cross, Amber opened up to her followers about an experience with an ex-boyfriend, which is nothing short of horrific: I need to tell you a story. With the love and support of my husband, I've decided to share it publicly. A very long time ago I ended...

It seems Kapil Sharma's tweet accusing the Bombay Municipal Corporation of bribery has set off a train of Bollywood-related accusations by the Bmc of alleged misdeeds. Right after Kapil impulsively tweeted with the bribe allegation against the Bmc, the Bmc struck back accusing Kapil of illegal construction on his property. Now it is another entertainer, actor Irrfan Khan's turn. Apparently, Irrfan, known to speak his mind fearlessly on all topics ranging from the politics of communalism to the antics of Bollywood stars, has been served a notice by the Bmc for illegal construction on his private property. Bollywood fears Kapil Sharma has unleashed a backlash by his rash tweet. Says a senior actor, "He should not have made such a grave accusation against the Bmc, and that too addressed to the Pm. I am not surprised that the Bmc reacted so quickly. Now I am afraid a lot...

Baar Baar Dekho
Starring Katrina Kaif, Sidharth Malhotra
Directed by Nitya Mehra
Rating: ****(4 Stars)
What if we get the chance to rectify all the big mistakes of our life? And what if a magical wand—or a pundit’s jigerypokery—takes us into the future to personally witness all those critical twists and turns on the road journey of life where we may swerve into the wrong lane? And then what if we get a chance to revise our actions and deeds accordingly?
Debutant director Nitya Mehra’s Baar Baar Dekho is unlike any romantic yarn—I hesitate from giving it that loosely-used term the ‘rom-com’. It is the ultimate what-if saga, narrated with a tender care and subdued splendor that make every moment between the lead pair precious and gladdening.
Watching the film we are just happy to see Jai and Diya togeth. It could be because they are...

When it comes to goofy bantering, the two guys Santa and Banta are the tops. A film on their enthusiastic asininity could be just the prescription for an evening of lighthearted entertainment, especially when two actors with impeccable comic timing are playing the lead.
The saddest sight in a comedy is watching two talented comic actors struggling with lines that seem to be written as an ongoing joke on how unfunny jokes can be.
Santa Banta Pvt Ltd takes the two beloved Sikh characters from a million and one SMS jokes in the past 15 years, and squeezes them into a satirical straightjacket so suffocating and turgid it reduces the two comic heroes to a shadow of a caricature.

Written by George Mann | Art by Emma Vieceli | Published by Titan Comics | Format: Paperback, 32pp
Sometimes a book, a character, or a creative team, just don’t click for you no matter how hard you try to like them. The elephant in the room for me for example is Deadpool, never liked the character or the comics (though admittedly the film is very good). It has been much the same with this 5 issue series, George Mann’s writing has failed to really impress and Emma Vieceli’s visuals have been just too cartoony. Not badly written or drawn in a technical sense, just not pushing the right buttons for me. I was really hoping this final issue could make a liar of me, persuade me that this mini-series needs at least a partial reappraisal.
So where were we? The Doctor and companion Josie have been checking off their mysterious ‘to-do’ list,...

Welcome to Geeks Vs Loneliness, our weekly spot where we talk about some of the things that between us are affecting life in some way. Waris Ahluwalia is headed back to New York. Just days after Aeroméxico barred the Sikh actor and designer from boarding a flight from Mexico City because he wouldn't remove his turban for a security screening on Monday, it seems he and the airline have reached an agreement. But even though the airline has issued an apology to the man, Ahluwalia said resolving this situation is only the beginning. "There is a lack of understanding. The apology is a brilliant first step and I want to thank Aeroméxico for that, but it's a first step and that's past-looking … now what we're talking about is the future,...

Well, if you're winner Jeremy Collins or standout contestant Joe Anglim, you land a guest starring role on The Young and the Restless.
On Wednesday's episode of the long-running soap opera, the reality stars will play coffee shop patrons. They filmed their scenes in December with series star Joshua Morrow, who happens to be a huge fan of Survivor.

Luv Ranjan who has just delivered a walloping surprise success at the box office with Pyaar Ka Punchnaama 2 is in no hurry to carry the franchise ahead. "It took me three years to put together a sequel. It may take me another three years or even more to come up with another Punchnama film," confesses Luv Ranjan, as he gets set to celebrate the film's success with his producer Abhishek Pathak, cast, team and friends on Wednesday with a party. "Its a small unplanned celebration for those who cared for our film and believed in my belief that successful films can be made without big stars," says Luv whose previous film the seriously-toned Akaash Vani about a marital misalliance was a box office failure. But Luv Ranjan is undeterred by the suggestion that a non-Punchnama film may not work at the box office. "The fear of the unknown cannot turn...

I’ve learned a very important lesson this past week: Never ever start training for a new day job the day after a four-day convention. All it does is turn your completely exhausted brain to mush. However, with said new position I will have a very small amount of extra cash available to do something I miss. Set up a comics issue pull list at a local comic store (Lcs).
Many moons ago I moved from the suburbs to the bright, shiny lights of NYC. When I did that, I left behind my Lcs Amok Time (Go check them out, I still heart them so much!) and with it, my last pull list. I wanted to give myself a few months of trying on the large variety of comic shops in my area and finding one that fit well. Alas, a few months later when I was getting serious about committing,...

Ronda Rousey's lookin' good! The Ufc champion covers the November issue of Self magazine, where she shows off her fit physique in a number of swimsuit looks. Wearing a red cutout one-piece on the cover shot, the "Entourage" star looks better than ever. In the accompanying article, the 28-year-old opens up about her biggest fears and her legacy. While it seems like not much would scare Ronda, she is afraid of one thing: Failure. "I am afraid of failure. That’s why I work harder than anyone else: I’m the most afraid to lose," she tells the mag. "But fear is also what motivates me." The fighter also says her main goal is to leave behind one killer legacy. "I want my name to be mentioned along with Mike Tyson and Muhammad Ali, and I don’t want the word 'Woman' to be in front of champion," she says.

'Sunset Blvd.': Gloria Swanson as Norma Desmond. The Charles Brackett Diaries: Gay Rumors quashed, troubled Billy Wilder partnership discussed in Q&A with Anthony Slide See previous post: “Charles Brackett Diaries: Politics and Gossip During the Studio Era.” First of all, how did you become involved in this Charles Brackett project? And what did your editorial job entail? I discovered the diaries about six years ago when I was asked by Brackett's grandson, Jim Moore, to place a financial value on them during the process of his donating them to the Margaret Herrick Library of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. It was clear to me that these diaries had not only considerable financial worth, but also, and perhaps more importantly, they were primary resources in the study of Hollywood history. Happily, Charles Brackett's family (who own the copyright) gave permission for me to edit the diaries,...

Aurora BorealisMy recent films are 3D images of nature and people in the environment. There is no narrative or no scripted work along with 3D images. I may call my films visual essays or poems. My approach to 3D films is to visualize and experience actual existences substances that are real in normally impossible ways without using any CG.I am originally a Holography artist. Holography is a totally different medium, and has different vocabulary. It invades our space yet co-exists. It creates an illusion and that is why holography is so special. But very few holography works are taken seriously by the world of art. I am afraid that 3D films might have similar fate. Amusement park-type 3D effects are still wanted by many.By contributing part of the technical side of my work, I hope you find my aesthetic intention. I also hope that by sharing technical methods...

Maybe the second most anticipated movie of the summer is Jurassic World, in part because Hollywood’s newest, biggest star, Chris Pratt, gets the chance to headline yet another blockbuster. But if you watched the trailer some weeks ago, you might’ve noticed how grim, self-serious and decidedly not Andy Dwyer/Starlord-esque charming and funny Pratt’s character was.
The first sigh of relief came this week when the first clip for the film was released this week, which you can watch above. Pratt is playfully flirting with Bryce Dallas-Howard in the scene, hinting at why the two of them never had a second date. Charming and funny? Maybe. Badly written? Arguably. Cliche? Probably. But is it sexist?

Love letters between Laurence Olivier and Vivien Leigh are being made public for the first time.
Some 200 previously unpublished letters between the pair will be revealed by the Victoria and Albert museum archives, dating back to the 1930s.
The couple first got together in 1936 after playing lovers in Fire Over England, but had to keep their relationship a secret as they were still married at the time.
"I woke up absolutely raging with desire for you my love... Oh dear God how I did want you. Perhaps you were stroking your darling self," Olivier said in one passionate letter to Leigh.
Another revealing letter reads: "I am sitting naked with just my parts wrapped in your panties. My longing for you is so intense."
Other letters include advice from Olivier to Leigh on her role in Gone with the Wind, saying: "You have got to be damn smart to make...

The sentence "That's a really poopy diaper" has never sounded more threatening. On one hand, Ashley Stanley's story is as creepy as any urban legend about an imperiled babysitter. This Houston nanny heard voices coming though the security camera used to watch the baby, and she initially thought she was being pranked. But when the voice commented on the size of the load the baby left in the diaper, Stanley realized she was being watched. On the other hand, this story is a good reminder to us all to check and re-check the passwords we use to protect our wifi-enabled products.
