A temari is a ball that children used to play with. It is usually made from old kimono and string. Uta means song, so the "Temari Uta" in the Japanese title means "the song of the cloth ball".
Soja City is mentioned in the film. It is a smallish city in Okayama prefecture. Kindaichi visits Kobe city which is a major city in Japan.
