Great follow up to the original movie, but very short-lived

Filmed entirely on location in East Africa, where the action took place, the short-lived series "Born Free"(which is based on popular novel and the 1966 motion picture of the same title),chronicled the adventures of George and Joy Adamson(played by Gary Collins and Diana Muldaur)with the lioness Elsa. The Adamsons were game wardens whose job was to protect the animals from poachers and natural disasters in the national park. This series also starred Dawn Lyn,for those who may not remember was Dody Douglass from "My Three Sons",as one of the assistants to the Adamson. Out of the 13 episodes that this series produced(under executive producer David Gerber and produced by Screen Gems/Columbia Pictures Television)this had great potential but it was very short-lived. The series ran on NBC-TV from September 9,1974 until December 12,1974. After the show was canceled in 1974,NBC replaced it was another short-lived series in its place titled "The Invisible Man"(a modern day adaption of the H.G. Wells story with David McCallum, formerly Illya of The Man From U.N.C.L.E in the title role) that premiered in January the following year.
