- The film was re-released in 1974 after the breakthrough success of their 1973 album "The Dark Side of the Moon". Additional interviews and footage of the group working at Abbey Road Studios during the "Dark Sides" sessions were added, along with studio performances of "On The Run", "Us And Them" and "Brian Damage". This version ran for 80 minutes.
- The 2003 Director's Cut expanded on the 1974 cut with additional cut away outake footage and new CGI footage of space. The order of the songs has also been altered.
- In 2016, the footage from the Pompeii performance was edited in a new running order for the Pink Floyd retrospective box-set "The Early Years 1965-1972". The set include the footage with a new 5.1 surround soundtrack remixed in 2016. The new song order is "Careful With That Axe, Eugene", A Saucerful of Secrets", "One of These Days", "Set The Controls for the Heart of the Sun" and "Echoes" as one complete performance.
- There are three versions of this film, all of which have been released on home video in the UK. The original 60-minute 1972 release. The 1974 theatrical release (longer version with features footage of the band in the studio recording the Dark Side Of The Moon album). And the 2003 Director's Cut. Currently, only the 1972 and 2003 versions are available on DVD.
- The DVD contains a new directors cut which includes most of the original footage as well as planetary images, CGI reconstructions of Pompeii, and footage/interviews from the 'Meddle' recording sessions as well as the 'Dark Side of the Moon' recording sessions. This version is also in "cropped widescreen" (the previously available footage simply has black bars at the top and bottom to simulate the widescreen effect).
- The new DVD also contains the 'original version' of the film that is in full-frame and only features the music. However, the original version's credits were in French in the same font style as the song titles, which, depending on your opinion, makes the credits seem somewhat polished and tacky.
