The street riot scenes were all shot on the exterior Baker Street standing set at Pinewood that had been constructed the previous year for the movie The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes (1970). This street appears in other films/TV series shot at Pinewood around this time too, including The Amazing Mr. Blunden (1972), Carry on at Your Convenience (1971), The Persuaders! (1971) and UFO (1970).
Some of the footage of the riot scenes was later re-used for the 1978 episode Look After Annie (1978) of the TV series The Professionals (1977).
The background music in the pub scene is actually the same music used more prominently in Bless This House (1972), which was produced in the same year with the same producer and composer (Peter Rogers and Eric Rogers).
The football match that Joe watches on TV while in bed is the 1969 Scottish Cup Final between Celtic and Rangers, with fake commentary and edited so the goals appear to be scored in a different order.
The location used in the final scene where Barry steals the lorry is the same as that used for the WC Boggs factory entrance in Carry on at Your Convenience (1971), which had been filmed the month prior to this film.
An early acting role for David Essex. The following year he would get a much bigger profile in the movie That'll Be the Day (1973).
