Mary Tyler Moore once called herself the only one of Elvis Presley’s leading ladies who didn’t sleep with him, but the singer reportedly struck out with more than one co-star. Elvis worked with actor Shelley Fabares on three films and reportedly pursued her across all of them. His bodyguards said it came as a major blow to Elvis’ ego when Fabares continually rejected him.
Elvis pursued a co-star who turned him down
After Elvis left the army in 1960, he began making movies at a relentless pace. While he was in a relationship with Priscilla Presley during this period, he still pursued many of his co-stars.
“It pretty much followed the same pattern,” bodyguard Red West said in the book Elvis: What Happened? by Steve Dunleavy. “Priscilla was in Memphis, Elvis dated his leading lady and I, as usual, ended up in the movie getting knocked on my a...

Elvis Presley‘s “Do the Clam” is one of the most infamous songs in the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll‘s discography. Its reputation is understandable, but it might be unwarranted. While “Do the Clam” is incredibly easy to mock, it has some redeeming qualities that go unnoticed. Here’s a very modest defense of one of the biggest punchlines in the 1960s rock canon.
Elvis Presley’s ‘Do the Clam’ is great because it’s bad
“Do the Clam” is a rock song were Elvis implores his audience to do a novelty dance called The Clam that never caught on. It has a fun beat, and Elvis’ vocals are as good as ever. However, the lyrics of the song are so ridiculous that many listeners can’t enjoy it.
Here’s the paradox: “Do the Clam” is good because it’s so oddball and undignified. It’s the pinnacle of so-bad-it’s good music.

Fandoms everywhere can now rejoice, for in October Our Flag Means Death finally returns to our screens for its second season. Rhys Darby and Taika Waititi will be romancing the high seas once more thanks to an enormous outpouring of love and support from the show’s fans. The safety of the cult favorite is not yet known beyond season two, but if this one is as good as the first, it certainly won’t be for lack of trying.

Even before Priscilla and Elvis Presley were married, she questioned his loyalty to her. Every time he left to film a movie, she felt both jealous and concerned. Though Elvis insisted he wasn’t having flings with his co-stars, she consistently saw evidence to the contrary. When she questioned him about this, his reaction was a cruel method of keeping her quiet.
Priscilla Presley said Elvis was cruel to her when she questioned his fidelity
When Elvis filmed movies, he left Priscilla at Graceland, where she fretted over his possible infidelity. He’d more or less admitted to having an affair with his Viva Las Vegas co-star Ann-Margret Olsson, and Priscilla became convinced that this wasn’t his only indiscretion. She found cards from other women tucked into his things and saw newspaper articles reporting on his on-set romances.
When Priscilla confronted him about it, though, Elvis irritably told her she was “imagining things.

Eddie Marks, a member of the costume department on such films as The Breakfast Club, The Witches of Eastwick and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and the president of the Western Costume Company since 1992, has died. He was 76.
Marks died Monday of natural causes during a visit to Prague, a spokesman for the company told The Hollywood Reporter.
Marks joined Western Costume in 1989 as a vice president and became president three years later. He helped steer the company from a cramped Melrose Avenue warehouse near the Paramount lot to a hangar-sized building on Vanowen Street in North Hollywood in 1990.
Western Costume was founded sometime between 1912 and 1915 and has been among the world’s largest suppliers of costumes ever since. “What makes us stand out from our competitors is that, over the last 30 years, I’ve bought 11 companies that were costume rental companies,” Marks told THR in a 2019 profile of Western Costume.

Taylor Lautner was often praised for his jacked physique while playing werewolf Jacob in the “Twilight” movies, but he’s now revealing the experience subsequently left him suffering from issues surrounding body image.
In an episode of “The Squeeze” — the new podcast he co-hosts with wife Taylor Dome — Lautner explains how “being viewed as having this unbelievable body” affected him after the fact.
“When I was in it, when I was 16 through 20 years old, starring in this franchise where my character is known for taking his shirt off every other second, no, I did not know that it was affecting me or going to affect me in the future with body image,” Lautner explained, as reported by People.

Warner Bros. Discovery has had a rough go of it recently. The newly-formed mega corporation’s decision to callously prune HBO Max’s servers of hours of content has led to mountains of bad PR and billions of dollars in market cap losses. Suffice it to say, a jam-packed list of new HBO Max releases for September 2022 would provide some welcome relief for the “House of the House of the Dragon.”
Unfortunately, HBO Max’s new releases this month are uncommonly light. It’s impossible to say whether this is the result of more Wbd meddling or simply some bad scheduling luck but either way it’s not going to make any executives’ seats less warm. There are only a handful of notable originals this month, led by season 2 of the Spanish language comedy Los Espookys on Sept. 16. That is joined by a pair of documentaries, Escape from Kabul on Sept.

Warren Berlinger, a busy character actor whose numerous roles made him one of TV’s most familiar faces from the Kraft Theatre golden age through the Grace and Frankie streaming era, died Wednesday at the Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital in Valencia, California. He was 83.
His death was confirmed by daughter Elizabeth. A cause has not been announced.
With a cherubic face that could seem simultaneously amiable and, along with the hint of an accent from his native Brooklyn, mischievous, Berlinger was a go-to actor for supporting and sidekick roles for decades, both in film, and television.

In 1966, two of the most important and influential entertainers of their generation were at very different points in their respective careers. Elvis Presley, who changed the course of music history with explosive rock & roll, had settled into the role of Hollywood movie star, with varying degrees of success and critical derision accompanying each new music-driven celluloid effort.
Born some 300 miles from Presley’s Tupelo, Mississippi, birthplace in Delight, Arkansas, Glen Campbell also made his way to Los Angeles after a stint living in New Mexico. By 1960, he had begun toiling...

A collection of songs Glen Campbell originally recorded as a demo singer for Elvis Presley to hear will soon see the light of day, as the lost album Sings for the King will be released November 16th via Capitol/UMe.
In the years between 1964 and 1968, during which he’d score his first hits as a solo artist, Campbell recorded studio versions of songs written with Presley as the intended artist, as he could skillfully imitate Presley’s delivery. Actress Deanna Lund died on June 22 at her home in Century City of pancreatic cancer. She was 81.
Lund played one of the seven castaways trying to survive in a world of large, unfriendly people on the 1960s ABC series Land of the Giants. Her Valerie Scott was a selfish party girl on the Irwin Allen-created series, which aired for two seasons, from September 1968 until March 1970.
Set in the year 1983, 20th Century Fox's Land of the Giants revolved around the crew and passengers of the spaceship Spindrift, which on the way to London crashed on a planet whose humanoid inhabitants were hostile and unbelievably huge. The show was extremely expensive to make, costing a reported $250,000 an episode.

Lindsay Lohan's lawyer recently decided to quit, stating that it's impossible to represent Lohan. So the actress had to go find another lawyer. The result turned out to be Mark Heller, a New York lawyer, who doesn't have a license to practice law in California. So Heller found a California lawyer to sponsor him, a shady woman who passed the bar exam in California, but never actually practiced law. Heller has now appeared in front of Judge Jim Dabney, hoping to convince the judge to throw away Lohan's car accident case. He tried to blame everything on Lohan's previous lawyer, but the judge ignored all that since Heller's paperwork was incredibly screwed up and his sponsor didn't even both showing up. Heller then argued that Lohan's case needs to be thrown out because police didn't advise her of her Miranda rights. The judge informed him that California doesn't require...

Hollywood actor known for her roles in the so-bad-they're-good films of Ed Wood
There are artists in various fields whose fame rests solely on how bad their work is alleged to be. Among them are the poet William McGonagall, the novelist Amanda McKittrick Ros, the soprano Florence Foster Jenkins and the film director Ed Wood. The latter's reputation as the world's worst film-maker rubbed off on Dolores Fuller, his muse, lover and leading lady, who has died aged 88.
It would be unfair to pick on Fuller for her stiff posture and stilted delivery in Wood's movies when the others in the casts were equally awkward, mainly because of the minimum amount of takes and the lack of strong direction. The "peak" of Wood and Fuller's collaboration was the camp classic Glen or Glenda (aka I Led Two Lives, 1953), an unintentionally hilarious, well-meaning film on transvestism.
