At the bridge where the coffin will be inspected as it is transported into West Berlin, there is a long view down the bridge, and the East Berlin hearse is clearly visible already at the checkpoint booth with no barriers in the way. In the very next shot, the east Berlin hearse is shown having not yet reached the checkpoint booth, over a block away with a red and white barrier in the way.
During the border inspection of the hearse, a senior officer hands some documents to a junior who is carrying an AK47 with telescoping stock. In the next shot, the junior is carrying a solid-stock rifle. In the following shot to that, the rifle is once more a telescoping stock.
At the Villa Grunewald, about 1:16 mark: Harry Palmer facing Colonel Ross. A couple camera shots at one angle have Harry standing with his hands and arms crossed behind his back, whereas other shots at a different camera angle show him in the same position, with hands and arms at his sides, without him having moved.
During the funeral there is a cut to the taxi-driver who now appears to be driving from the right hand seat of a car previously established as left hand drive. This shows the film was reversed during processing so as to match the direction of flow of surrounding shots.
At the end of the film, Palmer leaves Colonel Ross' office and pulls the door closed behind him. This would not have been possible unless the hydraulic door closer, which also prevents the door being forcibly closed had been disconnected. It is clear that the door closer has been unscrewed for this reason.
The seasons are mixed up. Palmer can be seen walking in warm sunshine under leafy trees, and the next scene will show gray skies and bare trees.
Palmer and Kreutzmann meet on the observation platform of the Europa Centre building in West Berlin, and through the viewing telescope the camera subsequently pans down onto a view looking eastwards to the Brandenburg Gate. But from where the Europa Centre is located on the Breitscheidplatz they would not have been able to see the Brandenburg Gate from that angle - the only place where the camera could have taken that particular view is from the top of the Siegesaule.
