Miss Marple : Are you implying that I am unhinged?
Det. Insp. Craddock : No. No, of course not!
Miss Marple : Then what are you implying, pray?
Det. Insp. Craddock : Well, just that you are temporarily not yourself.
Miss Marple : Chief Inspector, I am *always* myself!

Dr. Crump : Death? Instantaneous. Time? Right about midnight.
Det. Insp. Craddock : Cause? Asphyxiation by hanging, I suppose.
Dr. Crump : You suppose wrong. He was run through first. Then hung up afterwards.
Det. Insp. Craddock : Run through?
Dr. Crump : With a sword! Seems rather like gilding the lily, but there we are. Extraordinary business the whole thing, but there we are. Extraordinary. I'd like to discuss it with you sometime but I can't wait now, got a baby due! Give you a full report later. Good morning! Morning... morning.
Comm. Breeze-Connington : He's a bit on the brisk, isn't he?
Det. Insp. Craddock : Yes. Run through, eh?

[Inspector Craddock has come to release Miss Marple who was arrested as a possible murder suspect; they are both in a cell in the police station]
Det. Insp. Craddock : [pointing to the way out from the cell] The way lies before you, Miss Marple. May I suggest you take it, collect Mr Stringer wherever he is, and carry straight on home to Milchester?
Miss Marple : [walking out of the cell] The way lies before *you*, Chief Inspector. I suggest *you* take it. Lock yourself up for the night and do some good hard thinking.
