Writers Derek Ford and Donald Ford took the idea for their screenplay from a British newspaper story about a group of schoolgirls who advertised the loss of their virginity by wearing the gollywog brooches given away by Robertson's Jam. The change to teddy bears was made when the jam company refused to let their trademark be used.
The alternate version entitled GUTTER GIRLS added some topless nudity in typical "Continental" fashion. The nudity was performed by adults, however, not the film's schoolgirls.
According to US trailer previews, the version of this film entitled GUTTER GIRLS is the version with topless "Continental" scenes. The alternate-titled version, as THE THRILL SEEKERS, doesn't have the nudity. Presumably, the GUTTER GIRLS version was exhibited in adults-only theaters, while THE THRILL SEEKERS probably played drive-in theaters.
Georgina Patterson's debut.
