A mild and likable, early 60s, sleazy exploitation film.

Joe Sarno's 'Warm Nights and Hot Pleasures' follows three ambitious college girls eager to make their mark on Broadway to New York City. After renting an apartment, in a building where the landlady poses for sexy pics, the girls are immersed in a lurid world of wild parties, men's clubs and sleazy casting couches. Soon, each one must decide how far she is willing to go for stardom.

Like many Sarno pictures, this one focuses on the women and their misadventures. Despite some simulated sex and brief nudity, the film plays out more like a drama than a straight nudie flick, with its tragedy, despair, debasement and betrayal.

So basically, what you got here is a 60s NYC sleaze-lite B&W exploitation drama, with some great trashy moments, and a jazz soundtrack that doesn't quit.

Silly, With Barely any Skin

This is a thoroughly dumb movie with very loud jazzy musical track and third rate acting.

The women are homely babes who have five o'clock shadows in their arm pits!

The segments are all basically the same. Girl goes to casting couch. Girl takes off top. Girl is shot from the neck up. Girls makes out with cigarette smoking letch.

A bit of it is shot silent with that really bad jazz track in the background. There's lots of dancing too, like that's what people did before the sex that you don't get to see.

I've seen a number of Sarno movies and am really not so sure why he has such a following. They are all pretty bad. Stick with Russ Meyer if you want some old style sleaze.
