Sex & Nudity

- Brief love scenes are often shown, no nudity. Men are frequently shown without shirts on. Women typically wear revealing clothing. Kissing is shown. Frequently see characters "cheating", and having sexual relationships with many partners, again, no nudity. Characters discuss sexual relationships, no graphic terms are used.
Violence & Gore

- There is one storyline that focuses on a vampire(yeah i know, this show sucks)
- Some violence, characters fire guns. Bombs explode, frequent physical fighting between characters. Many verbal fights are heard. Characters have been stabbed, thrown off cliffs. The most you ever see is a little blood on someone's clothing, not very graphic. Characters frequently die, and return from the dead. Some death scenes involve children which may be upsetting. In a few instances, there are scenes of characters being raped. In most cases, the scenes cut away before this takes place. You see the characters later, either in the hospital or bruised up. One scene does show a graphic scene of a woman being assaulted. Disturbing, no nudity is shown.
Profanity

- Very mild language. Mostly hell and damn are used. Occasionally, you may hear ass or bastard. No heavy curse words; no religious curses, Some derogatory terms are used towards others; idiot, loser, stupid, trash, jerk, dirt bag. Some terms used to describe women, such as slut, whore, and tramp are used infrequently. The word Bitch has also been used.
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

- You frequently see characters drinking, Some characters story lines have addressed dependency and addiction to alcohol and drugs. No smoking is shown, other than occasionally someone will hold a cigar. Characters hang out at a bar. Characters sometimes portray being drunk, but it does not glamorize it, in fact, the consequences of drinking/drugs are almost always addressed. A man's alcohol problem leads to the death of his 4-year-old grand son, which is disturbing. A man takes medication for bi-polar disorder, but his illness is shown in a way that shows the importance of getting treatment.
Frightening & Intense Scenes

- It is good to remember that nothing on this show is anywhere near realistic. If I had my way, it would be labled under "Fantasy".
- Frequent death scenes, some involving children. Often intense scenes with gunfire and people in peril. Hospital scenes may involve blood, though not graphically. Characters become emotional. Several story lines revolve around real life issues, such as unwanted pregnancies, domestic violence/abuse, drug and alcohol dependency, death, mental illness, illness, inc. HIV/AIDS, and cancer, abortion, homosexuality, premarital sex, divorce, custody issues, criminal activity, car accidents, etc. Anybody experiencing these issues in real life may find it unsettling to watch.
