Pete Henke, a violent sharpshooter, comes to town and immediately starts stirring up trouble. The town's newspaper editor, Jefferson Drum, challenges Henke to a fistfight in the saloon. Drum says if he wins the fight Henke has to leave town. Drum takes a beating in the first round, but knocks Henke down in the second. In the third round, Henke throws something into Drum's eyes, blinding him, and, so, wins the bout. The saloon hostess who passed the blinding substance to Henke makes a play for Drum but he rejects her. She later is seen by Drum and the town's sheriff dancing at Henke's medicine show. Drum again tells Henke to leave town. Henke challenges him to another fight. Drum turns him down and doubles over Henke with a stomach punch.
