His starring role as Tarzan was the film debut of Gordon Scott.
This was the final Tarzan film released by RKO. The next in the series, Tarzan and the Lost Safari, was an M-G-M release.
This was the first of six times Gordon Scott would play Tarzan. In the 1960s, he migrated to Europe and appeared in several Italian "swords and sandals" movies.
Vera Miles was later put under exclusive contract by Alfred Hitchcock, who intended to groom her as a successor to his favorite "Icy Blonde" Grace Kelly. But Miles passed on many pivotal parts (including the role eventually played by Kim Novak in Vertigo) and Hitchcock grew disillusioned by her seeming lack of interest in becoming a major star under his tutelage.
