The biography of the Hungarian Physician Ignac Semmelweis
esteban174721 October 2001
Hungarian physician Ignac Fulop Semmelweis was the one who discovered the cause of puerperal fever and developed antisepsis to control it. Using such a method pregnant women mortality decreased drastically in a short period of time.

Semmelweis although capable and intelligent, his application for a post at the University in Vienna was several times rejected. As a result he remained in his country developing new ideas and methods. The film showed this discrimination and the working and fighting spirit of this physician. The film also demonstrated the mistreatment even of intelligence by the Hadsburg in the former Austro-Hungarian Empire. More films as this one should be made in the coming future, with less stupid violence and more development of the human intelligence.
