Finnish Sting
The superb performance of late Finnish actor Tauno Palo,as Ventti-Ville, makes seeing this film enjoyable. There are some banalities in film, but plot goes quite smoothly and dialog is smartly build and quite vigorous and strong compared contemporaries in 50's.The film is based on the novel of Mika Waltari. Some of characters are stereotypical as that jurist or tycoon, but others are predicting what was coming in masterpieces, like Edwin Laine's "Tuntematon Sotilas".I see this film as a pearl and Valentin Vaala has captured something precious, that is in the original novel of Mika Waltari.Leo Riuttu(jurist)is not a bad actor,he was that humorous Vanhala in "Tuntematon",but I wonder why,he was not allowed to put some force in his character. As a whole, this film is the "must" for those, who love Finnish films and entertaining for other ones too.
